Rescue Me ID: 15-03-26-00042Barney (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space...then they can become a bit shy as if the world is a tentative place. With love and assurance..they quickly come back overflowing with puppy love and opportunity. We're so grateful for the efforts of the great Houston rescuers in saving Barney...they could see that his temperament was so loving that they couldn't allow him to be euthanized. Barney was immediately brought to be vetted and temperament tested...he passed both ... (Read More)and was brought to a great Texas foster home to begin his education around house manners and socialization. It turns out that Barney, at only 16 weeks old, is so cooperative (even if a bit unsure at times) that it's been a fun and rewarding experience for his foster mom to watch him blossom. He's like a blank slate...open and curious about the possibilities of the world. If Barney continues his regimen of time with loving humans and classes that promote positive relationships with other dogs as well as bonding with his people...Barney will become a well-adjusted and extremely pleasant adult companion. Barney is a gorgeous puppy with a Benji-like coat that speaks of youth and good health. His demeanor is just who he is...he appears to be just a bit more analytical than your average crazy puppy. If you are kind to Barney, he is your best friend and is very interested in some serious bonding. If Barney is treated kindly (treats and belly rubs always help) with clear behavioral guidelines, he will become a well-adjusted adult dog who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for Barney. Barney currently weighs 14.6 lbs (the vets anticipate him to weigh approximately 22 - 25 lbs when full-grown.) He's the perfect size to be very portable and low-maintenance enough to take along on fun adventures. We feel it's very important that Barney is provided with exercise and mental stimulation to develop into a well-adjusted companion. He will be a perfect size to enjoy hiking and adventures in the Colorado mountains. We'd also like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy puppy in their activities. Barney appears to a be a non-shedding puppy (he is thought to be a mix of 2 non-shedding breeds according to the shelter vets)...although it's difficult to tell since he still has his baby coat. He will require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his hair soft and matt-free. We always request that a dog be neutered before they arrive on transport in Boulder. Sometimes the puppy is deemed too young to be fixed. If this is the case for Barney, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for neutering and microchipping if our Denver vet is used. Barney will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 4/3/15. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet and endearing puppy, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302. (Less)

Poodle    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Robin and Coco were found together wandering the streets in Roswell, New Mexico. Robin is a while male miniature poodle, and Coco is brown/apricot female miniature poodle. They are both about 3 years old. They adore each other very much. Wherever one goes, the other one follows, even if it's into the crate. They are both fully crate trained, and do not mind being in the crate at all! They both love to snuggle all the time with the foster mom, and Robin even likes to help you drive the car :) They get along GREAT with other dogs, even the fosters dogs who are not always the best they get along with! They are not barkers and are very ... (Read More)obedient little dogs. They were clearly someones dogs at one point, but they just did not want them anymore. Since they are non-shedding dogs, they will need regular grooming appointments. These sweet boys are just looking for a new forever home who will love them for their great personality. Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

HI! My name is Peetie and I am a very sweet Maltipoo who is about 4 years old and I weigh 6.5 pounds. My family, who lived in a dilapidated trailer, moved away and left me and 2 of my friends to starve to death confined in a fence. A miracle occurred and a nice lady was able to get me and Mugsy and take us to a great place where there are lots of other dogs, lots of good food, and best of all, I get to sleep snuggled next to my foster Mom. I need a home where I can bond with a stay at home person who will give me lots of love and no children under 10 years old. If you have been waiting for the perfect little love, ask for me on your ... (Read More)application. Love, Peetie 031815-02 (Less)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Pepper Miniature Poodle Mix Male 3 years old 5 lbs. Peter Piper Picked a Pepper Pepper...shoot! Ok, let me try again, Peter Pepper...aak! I'm going to get it; ok, Peter Piper Picked a Pupper Pepper! YES! Got it! I'm Pepper the Pup and I'm ready for the PICKIN'! You've heard the saying, 'If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.' Well, I'm going to let you in on a secret- whoever wrote that never met THIS GUY! Although I was picked up as a stray in Fort Morgan, I am definitely, absolutely a trained family dog. You wouldn't believe how surprised my foster mom was when I made myself right at home in my new crate, was polite and sweet ... (Read More)on walks, and enjoyed sunbathing on the deck like any good Colorado family boy should. Basic commands are all down pat, I love other dogs, and I'm right at home by your side, whether we're in for the night with Netflix or out on the road together chasing adventure in the family minivan. As for kiddos, I haven't had a chance to spend time up-close and personal with them, but if my other preferences are any indication, we'd fall in love. I've had a few years to develop my cat-like reflexes and can go from full-on nap to 110% playtime in the squeak of a toy bone, sure to impress the youngsters in the house. Just wait, you'll see - it's NOT too good to be true! It's just me, Pepper!! Does your pack need a little pep? Let's meet up for a few laps around the park or maybe a little snuggle sesh and see if were a pair! Email adopt@pawscoadoptions.org or head over to the adoption app and let them know you wanna' be just like Peter Piper, and Pick Pepper! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-17-00008Butterscotch (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It's hard to imagine this truly beautiful (inside & out) Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle mix with perhaps just a touch of Terrier) in a high-kill Texas shelter. A compassionate Farfel's rescuer saved Butterscotch's life and has nursed his body and spirit back to joy and well-being. It's now getting to the time when Butterscotch is ready to be transported to his new life in Colorado. Although it will be terribly hard for his foster mom to say goodbye...she knows that Butterscotch will have a life of joy and the love of a committed family. The following is a description of Butterscotch by his foster mom: --Butter is such a sweet puppy just ... (Read More)waiting to blossom. I've truly enjoyed watching him learn that the world can be a loving and positive place. He had a hard start - but now he's learning about treats, belly rubs and that he's a very valuable and well-loved pup! Butterscotch may be initially shy, but just give him a moment and you'll have a new best friend. Butter loves to run and play outside...he has exactly the appropriate amount of energy for a 7 - 8 month old, 25 lb healthy pup. We anticipate Butterscotch to be about 38 - 40 or so lbs when full-grown...the perfect medium size pup! Butter would do well with a family who is home alot to hike and play with and run joyfully through the mountain trails or at the park - he would love that! After he's had exercise and stimulation, Butter's ready to chill on the couch. He loves to snuggle, be petted and doesn't get overly grumpy about anything really..Butter is extremely even-tempered. As well as a very even personality, Butter is also incredibly beautiful! I know it's very hard to tell from this sad shelter photo, but Butter has the most beautiful, expressive eyes I've ever seen! His gorgeous, non-shedding (or very lightly shedding...it's still a little early to tell exactly what his adult coat will be like) hair will require care...a periodic grooming and great nutrition would be perfect to keep his coat as beautiful and as shed-free as possible. Butterscotch is always fine and pleasant with other dogs but appreciates those that are respectful of the fact that he is still learning. He loves to have fun and sometimes an older dog just doesn't want to play. As far as people..Butter has been absolutely great with my 12 and 15 year old daughters and me!! I haven't seen him around small kids, so that's an unknown. He's excellent with my mom, but might be a bit energetic for an advanced senior. Butter is a truly smart pup - true to his breeds!! What a gem of a best friend for an active family who wants to include a very cute and sweet dog in their life. He has the potential to be a truly exceptional and loyal companion..particularly after positive reinforcement group obedience classes that are great for every puppy! Farfel's is very excited to participate in finding this special Schnoodle a loving and committed forever family. Butterscotch will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 3/20/15. If interested in this sweet guy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Our sweet and beautiful Chai couldn't be more loving no matter how hard she tried. Chai is a 12 - 18 month old Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle mix) that is just waiting to be the love of someone's life. Schnoodles have grown in popularity tremendously over the past few years. It makes perfect sense in that they're known for their great temperaments, non-shedding (or very lightly shedding) coats and easygoing personalities Farfel's rescues almost every Schnoodle that is in need of our help with confidence they will have great personalities and be loyal and loving family members. Chai has all these wonderful traits and was described by her Texas ... (Read More)foster mom as PERFECT! Chai has had a challenging period of time but is now safe and sound%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD|never to be cold or hungry again. But with it all%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD|Chai doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since Chai is so young, she's somewhat of a blank slate%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD|open to all possibilities if treated kindly and with respect. Group training classes with her family and a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Chai and her family (as it does every dog and their people). Together they will learn the skills to have Chai be a companion that is well-behaved (she's pretty close right now!) in every situation. It also creates strong bonds of respect between pup and family. Chai tends to be a happy-go-lucky girl who loves life and responds so well to love and time spent together (hugs and kisses are absolutely awesome)... and of course some great treats are always a wonderful option. Chai gets very attached to those she loves and before you know it, is on her way to her favorite people's lap for belly rubs and soft touches. Chai loves to come along (and is very portable at 15 lbs)..be it to a dog-friendly workplace, a hike on a Colorado trail, a vacation or just socializing%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD|Chai would love to be there as Companion #1. She has such a pleasant personality and is low-maintenance to fit in just about anywhere. At home, Chai would be fine with sharing her family with other dogs. As long as they're gentle...Chai can enjoy them. We envision Chai in a home that will provide her with exercise and stimulation%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD|other dogs help that with play and backyard fun. She wouldn't be happy spending long hours alone%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD|Chai is far too people-oriented to be happy with that. A retiree or a person who works either part-time or from home would be great. Chai would love the companionship and consistency of those relationships. Being a young dog, she'd also learn that she's loved and cared for. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident adult dog. Chai will be arriving on transport in Denver on 2/27/15. If interested in this very sweet girl who is truly an exceptional companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)
