Rescue Me ID: 14-10-31-00083Amity (female)

Poodle    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed

Amity is a dog that makes us humans stop and think that we can learn important lessons from rescue dogs. Although she has been through so many difficult scenarios in her young life (just about 8 months old) Amity has risen up and has the most positive attitude imaginable! At about 9 lbs..Amity has the self-confidence and fun-loving nature to be overjoyed in the company of other dogs and humans. She's so friendly and filled with a silly, playful nature that she endears herself to everyone she meets. Amity would love nothing more than to be a constant companion...a place by a loved one's side is exactly where she wants to be! Amity is so ... (Read More)portable that she's perfect to bring anywhere that a small, endearing pup is welcome. She's a natural at her foster mom's bridge games...she's quickly becoming a favorite and is a great foot-warmer. Everyone loves Amity and she returns the hugs/kisses a thousand times over once she gets over an initial shyness. Amity also enjoys running errands with her foster mom and dad....no one is a stranger to this little girl. She rides shotgun and just loved the downtown pet supply store - she's pretty sure at least a few treats will come her way. Amity appears to do well in urban or rural environments and is very flexible and low-maintenance at all times. She is independent enough to never overwhelm others with neediness...although a place on her favorite person's lap will literally make her smile. We are searching for a family who really wants the company...and accompanying responsibility...of a sweet young dog. Amity would not be happy with long hours alone at home...Amity is a playful, endearing girl that must spend lots of time with her family to truly be fulfilled. That can mean in the backyard playing, a trip to a friend's house or some time at a park enjoying walks and general dog-fun. In return...Amity will be the most devoted and loyal companion anyone can imagine. Amity is a non-shedding girl and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic breeds available. She will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her cotton-soft coat healthy and matt-free. We've requested that Amity be spayed prior to her arrival in Denver. Due to the huge number of dogs in Kansas shelters, they can't always fulfill our request. If they don't, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs (if our vet is used) for Amity's spay, microchip, Heatrworm test and any core shot that is missing after her arrival in Denver. Amity will be arriving on transport in Denver on or around 11/7. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-31-00051Destin (male)

Poodle    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Destin could be that dream come true pup for retirees who love spending their time with a kind and loyal dog who is the most devoted companion around. There's no question that Destin would also do well with gentle older kids (12+ please) who enjoy the fun that a sweet little dog brings to a family. We'd like only older children as part of Destin's family not because he's nasty with young kids, but because he only weighs about 12 lbs at approximately 24 months old and we want to make certain he's handled gently and respectfully. We don't think he'd be happy with the loud voices and occasional rough pokes or tail pulls of very young kids. ... (Read More)Destin does love playing and is entertaining in his antics, energy and the love he wants to show to everyone who is kind to him. The shelter vet identified Destin as a purebred Poodle. We can't commit to his being a purebred but we really don't see another breed that we can identify. Destin's sad story is all too common in a scary Kansas shelter....but who could ignore Destin's beautiful face with the sweet eyes and wavy cotton-soft coat? Destin also has an adorable manner and a desire to bond with anyone who gives him a bit of time to get over his initial shyness. He will then be a loyal and devoted best friend and before you know it... he's gently loving you with a wag and a kiss. The awesome Kansas rescuer recognized all of this and knew that there was a home out there that would love, respect and make this little guy a permanent member of their family. Destin's definitely got some votes for the most matted, shelter-dirty guy ever... but with a serious grooming, the beauty of this special pup will become evident (we'll update with a photo). Destin is a non-shedding guy (considered to be hypoallergenic) and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his stunning coat healthy and matt-free. Destin is so pleasant and portable that he can be a part of any adventure....it can be a fun hike, a visit with dog-loving friends, a car ride on vacation or just an afternoon spending time together plopped down on the couch - all of this would speak to Destin's nature. We aren't open to a home where everyone spends their days working full-time outside of the home....we'd like Destin to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle. We've requested that Destin be neutered prior to his arrival in Denver. Due to the huge number of dogs in Kansas shelters, they can't always fulfill our request. If they don't, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs (if our vet is used) for Destin's neuter, microchip, Heatrworm test and any core shot that is missing after his arrival in Denver. Destin will be arriving on transport in Denver on or around 11/7. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-28-00240Haze (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Whenever a Poodle or Poodle mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that pups of this mix are so loving and very smart and devoted. They tend to make great family companions and we particularly like guys like Haze for retirees who desire the companionship and loyalty of a devoted pup. Sometimes reduce dogs can be a bit shy....but put Haze in a home with an involved and very loving family and frequent socialization...and he will shine! Haze is about 2.5 years old and currently weighs 12 lbs..a perfect weight for a lap dog or a take along guy to scoop up in your arms and head off for an adventure. As a ... (Read More)young guy, Haze is a blank slate just waiting for a forever family to teach him the wonders of his world. If he is trained with positive reinforcement, given tons of kind attention, socialization with both humans and other dogs...he will turn into a self-confident guy who will be a wonderful companion - He has all the elements working in his favor since he's starting out with a great temperament and a puppyish desire to please. We'd like to place Haze in a home with either retirees or a very involved family with older kids (12+ would be great) who is motivated to take him to group Obedience class to bring out all the wonderful qualities that are in this Poodle mix. Haze would love being out in the sunshine walking the trails of Colorado, window-shopping on Pearl Street to fine-tune his urban skills and being a very present companion all through the day. With love and consistency, Haze will also be comfortable with being alone and know that his family will always return. He'll learn this with consistent behavior and kind boundaries present in his life. Haze is a non-shedding guy and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic breed mixes. He will therefore require periodic grooming and excellent nutrition to keep his cotton-soft coat healthy and matt-free. Haze will be arriving on transport in Denver on 10/31. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-26-00126Hannah (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hannah is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag. Once she gets a sudsy bath and grooming...she'll absolutely be one of the cutest girls around. At 12 - 24 months old and about 10 lbs, once comfortable in her surroundings, Hannah is every bit the puppy...fun and active....but at the same time she is a well-behaved girl who wants to give the best of herself. She expresses herself with her adorable wagging tail and enthusiasm for life. At this early point in Hannah's life, she is searching for the committed family she has never before found. However, Hannah has a positive attitude as if she ... (Read More)knows a great new forever home is waiting around the corner. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Hannah to a family who expresses their devotion for her in many different ways. We'd like Hannah to attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog she's capable of being. Right now, Hannah is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved pup around. We'd like Hannah to find her place with dog-crazy and committed retirees who are open to a relationship with a fuzzy lapdog. A loving and gentle family with older children (13+ would be great) would also be just right for Hannah. She is so portable that she can easily be a constant companion - Hannah would love nothing more than leisurely walks, trips to the store (she's a great window-shopping friend) or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Hannah is young enough that she can be introduced to new situations...and if there is patience and gentle guidance...she can succeed. At the end of the day...for Hannah, there is nothing better than a welcoming lap. She'll snuggle up and show all the love that's inside of her. She's also a great foot-warmer for times when her favorite people are on the computer. We've requested that Hannah be spayed prior to her arrival in Boulder. We're not entirely sure that that will occur. If not, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Hannah's spaying and microchip upon her arrival in Colorado. Hannah is a non-shedding pup (and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic of breed mixes). She will therefore require periodic grooming along with great nutrition to keep her coat cottony-soft and matt-free. Hannah will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 10/27. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-26-00103Milo (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

What a scary world it is out there when you're homeless and hungry...especially when you only weigh about 11 pounds. Milo, a gorgeous 3 - 4 year old Maltese/Poodle mix,(or so the shelter vets identified his breeds) found himself in this situation through no fault of his own. His plight was the result of irresponsibility and neglect...such a sad statement for the level of care that a human bestowed on this harmless dog. Milo was the luckiest guy around that day...he was discovered and rescued from a high-kill shelter by a kind rescuer who felt compassion when she realized how friendly and loving he was. He was a matted mess on the ... (Read More)outside (Farfel's will be happy to pay for Milo's grooming upon arrival in CO)..but nothing but pure and grateful devotion on the inside! Milo's rescuer brought him home and dedicated herself to caring for him...and reassuring his abandoned psyche that he was safe. After many efforts to find Milo's family (because after all, how could this sweet and beautiful dog not have a family)...the decision was made that he deserved a new life in Colorado. He would so love walks down mountain trails...he loves being outside and is capable of being a companion for lots of activities. Milo is definitely searching for a human friend that he can devote his heart to....and that person will be the recipient of 100% of what this little dog has to offer. He's a steadfast companion that takes his relationships seriously. We're searching for an adult home for Milo...a retired couple or individual who enjoy spending lots of time with a fuzzy guy would be great! It's not that Milo dislikes kids..we just feel he'd be more secure in the calmer reliability of an adult home. He also gets along with other dogs but again we feel he could be happy either way..he could get used to being the one and only. Milo would blossom with the attention and caring touch of a dedicated family. In this supportive environment, he will glow with joy at his incredible luck. Milo also loves to please...and when he's successful, he struts his stuff with high self-esteem. Milo is a non-shedding pup and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic breed mixes. He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cotton-soft coat healthy and matt-free. Milo will be completely vetted and vaccinated upon his arrival in Denver. We've requested his neutering..if that doesn't occur, Farfel's will arrange and cover all costs for Milo's neuter and microchip to fulfill our commitment to adopting out healthy and well-adjusted dogs. Milo will arrive on transport in Boulder, CO on 10/27. Applications are currently being accepted for Milo and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

It's hard to imagine this truly beautiful (inside & out) Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle mix) wandering the streets of Texas..so cold and skinny. A compassionate passer-by took Dino in and slowly nursed him back to health...she came to also love him and care about his welfare. We're positive that she had no idea that she was bringing him to a high-kill shelter when she dropped him off thinking he'd get a great new home. Farfel's Rescue was contacted about this wonderful Schnoodle...our TX rescuer met Dino and came to fall in love with this awesome guy who just naturally puts happy feelings into the world (you can see his huge smile in his ... (Read More)photo). Farfel's responded and will be transporting Dino to Colorado and a new life. Farfel's Rescue agrees that Dino deserves only the best after so many challenges in his life and has agreed to participate in his rehoming. Wonderful Dino is the sweetest Schnoodle around...and the very popular Schnauzer/Poodle mix is acknowledged to be one of the top mixes as a family pet. They have cotton-soft, non-shedding coats with gorgeous silver and cream coloring. They're also widely known for their great temperaments and devoted natures. The following is a description of Dino by his foster mom: Dino is such a sweetie! He loves attention and is so comical - and then plays outside in the sunshine.. He loves to snuggle, be petted and is learning to be great about grooming. His fine and cotton-like hair will require care...a periodic grooming would be perfect to keep his coat as beautiful as it can be. He doesn't shed at all. He is fine with other dogs but appears to do better with gentle, respectful dogs of a similar size. Dino is great with my 15 and 17 year old boys and me!! I haven't seen him around smaller kids. so that's an unknown. He's great and a love bug with my mom and I think he's be perfect for a senior who enjoys walks and being outside with a best friend. Dino weighs 17 lbs and is about 7 or 7.5 yrs old...a great age for a Schnoodle - old enough to have wisdom and to be quiet and cuddly.. and young enough to lots of energy to participate in all activities of life. Schnodles, as a mix, tend to live very long and healthy lives. Dino is a truly smart boy and if shown the way, always wants to please. He's very responsive to 'no' and is learning all kinds of new skills. What a gem of a dog Dino would be for retirees who seek a full-time pal who can accompany them everywhere and be a pleasure. He would also be happy with a mellow doggy companion who would play a bit and then hang out together and enjoy the day. Dino's only repercussion of his tough and neglected life are his teeth. Farfel's is happy to cover the costs of a complete dental for Dino when he arrives in Denver if our vet is used...he absolutely deserves it! Dino will arrive on transport in Denver on 10/17. If interested in this sweet and very loving companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-15-00037Jade (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

No one would blame Jade for being a bit traumatized! This sensitive girl was taken from the only home and family she had ever had. This was through no fault of her own...her mom had to move into a senior facility - No Dogs Allowed! We hope that Jade can serve as a lesson to us all...if you're a senior citizen or even a younger person, plans must be made in writing for your pets. If this doesn't occur, that devoted fuzzy friend will most often be placed in a high-kill municipal shelter. Jade is definitely one of the lucky ones...her inner (and outer) beauty spoke volumes and our TX rescuer couldn't say no (and we're so glad she ... (Read More)couldn't!) Jade is an absolutely adorable Shih Tzu mix...her soft coat just begs to be stroked. Our hearts go out to this lovely girl...she's anxious about the abrupt changes in her life (who wouldn't be??) and needs the patience, kindness and love of a true dog-lover to bring the spring back to her step. Jade is just about 4 years old (very young for a Shih Tzu mix as they have very long life spans) and weighs only about 8 or so lbs...the perfect weight to fit just right on any lap. That would bring Jade the greatest joy - to again have that warm lap, soft strokes and calm, loving words. While Jade is worried about her future...a home that can offer this type of companionship will make her shine brightly again. Jade is initially quite shy when she meets someone. If she's given a few minutes however...her endearing and kind personality will emerge. She absolutely loves women while being shyer with men. She just needs some time and kindness (and a treat will help) to adjust to males. Jade would also be intimidated by the loud voices and fast movements of young kids. We therefore envision Jade in an adult-only home. She would absolutely be the most devoted and snuggly best friend that a retired woman could imagine! Jade isn't a pup that require lots of exercise....a fenced yard for sunning would be lovely or leisurely walks along Colorado paths would fit the bill as well. Jade would be so happy just to be hanging out close to a friendly, like-sized dog sibling and a favorite person (or people) ...after all, you never know when there's an empty lap or a loving hand. Right now, a great match would be a family who just wants the most devoted (over time) and loving full-time companion. With true love and respect, Jade will return these emotions a million times over. Jade has the most beautiful, non-shedding coat imaginable and it will grow more so with time and great nutrition. She will therefore require periodic grooming to keep her coat silky-soft and matt-free. Jade will arrive on transport in Boulder on 10/18. If interested in this snuggly and sweet girl (with the cutest snaggle tooth ever), please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We think Snow's foster mom described this exceptional 2 - 3 year old gorgeous Poodle to perfection -- Snow is so, so, so, SWEET! Not a mean bone in her body. She was a bit insecure when I first met her which is completely understandable...she was in a high-kill shelter after being used only for her amazing beauty...her emotional well-being was never considered. Snow apparently wasn't able to reproduce as was hoped and therefore served no further use...euthanasia was the obvious answer to opportunistic breeders. It was Snow's great fortune that a Farfel's rescuer heard of her and saved her life. Snow is a 2.5 - 3 yr. old, 17 lb miniature ... (Read More)poodle. Living in a cage for over a year solely to reproduce (never seeing the sun, smelling the outdoors or experiencing human kindness) was the story of Snow's sad early life. When it became clear that Snow had an endearing personality and great behavior, arrangements were made for her transport to Colorado and a new and wonderful life. Snow is now being fostered in Denver while she waits patiently for her special home. She's getting more secure each day and snuggles like a love bug, loves to play, walks on a leash nicely, rides in the car, goes to the dog park, and walks into PetSmart with great self-esteem! Snow is true to her breed...so very smart without any aggression. My attached picture doesn't do Snow justice at all...she is far more gorgeous (both inside and out) than the camera picks up. I'll be posting more and better photos of Snow shortly. Snow needs and deserves a loving home - someone with patience and energy (perhaps group training class or meet-ups for Snow to interact with other small dogs) would be a gift to this girl who has all the potential in the world. She would love being someone's sweet lap dog and best friend! Snow is a non-shedding pup (said to be the most hypoallergenic of breeds) with a gorgeous, cotton-like coat. She will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her cotton-soft coat healthy and matt-free. Snow will be arriving on transport in Denver on 10/10.     Lollipop is a wonderful dog! He is currently being treated for optic neuritis and is blind in one eye. Due to his condition, he will be on medication long-term.     Hi, my name's Petey! I love to play fetch in the house. I love to snuggle. I have so much personality that I will crack you up! I didn't have much structure growing up. This means that I have a few simple rules. 1) I always need to have an Alamo. This is some sort of cozy area. 2) I need to be taken out every 8 hours or so. Otherwise, I will go in the house. My bladder is small. 3) I growl when I feel threatened. If you pet me while I'm growling, I may bite you. My mom and dad will soon have a baby that is too stupid to know my rules. This makes them nervous because I growl at random dogs and strangers. One time, my dad was telling ... (Read More)this stranger not to come into my car because I was growling at him. The stranger said it would be okay and came in anyway - so I bit the fool! Turns out the stranger was my dad's friend. How was I supposed to know?! Also, I sometimes bite vet's when they poke me with stuff or groomers who cut my nails. Now when I go to the vet or groomer, my dad holds me or I have a muzzle. I would never bite my mom, dad, sister dog, or someone who stopped approaching me when I started growling. But, that stupid baby won't even know which toys are mine! If you 'get' dogs and would like to save me, I will make your life awesome! I am loyal, affection-driven, energetic and playful. Save me?! (Less)
