Rescue Me ID: 17-10-22-00154Dane (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

One of our exceptional Texas rescuers saved the life of this adorable Poodle/Maltese mix in hopes of transporting him to a wonderful new life in Colorado..he deserves it as he aced his temperament testing. His excellent (and sometimes silly) personality clinched the deal..and Dane is in a foster home preparing for his long transport to Boulder. Dane is just about 9 - 12 months old and 10 pounds of cotton-coat fluffiness. Dane is such a devoted and smart little guy... a relaxed and lovable dog has emerged since he's been in his foster home. He has made progress each and every day and has become a well-adjusted pup who is open to new ... (Read More)relationships and adventures. It also makes a difference that his nutritional, emotional and exercising needs are being lovingly met. Dane loves long walks (won't he be perfect for those gorgeous days exploring Colorado paths?) and playtime that includes periodic hugs, praise and treats that make Dane feel so good about himself and channels his puppy-like curiosity in a positive direction. Dane is such a fun and silly guy that we hope his new family will choose to spend lots of time enjoying his antics. Every day when Dane's foster mom comes home, she's greeted by an ecstatic Dane..dancing on his hind legs with love and joy. We'd like to see Dane in a home with loving and devoted retirees or a family with older children (after all, Dane weighs only 10 lbs and must be handled gently) that spend lots of time at home...or enjoys taking their furry best friend along. Dane is a perfect take-along size guy...it's so easy to just scoop him up and snuggle him under your arm or in a carrier. He enjoys the car and is learning his skills quickly to be trustworthy in all situations. Dane would be perfect for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a very loving and engaging pup. Dane's foster mom is working on his house training and general house skills to make him the well-behaved and engaged dog he has the ability to be. She speaks of him so highly...Dane is the sweetest lap dog ever. I just love him and can't get enough of his sweet company! Dane would do so well in positive reinforcement Obedience 1 class that will create additional bonding with his family on his path to learning behaviors that will make hims a great life-long companion. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement trainers in your area. Dane is a non-shedding guy (Poodles and Maltese are two of the most hypoallergenic breeds available today) and will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cottony-soft hair healthy and matt-free. We've requested that Dane be neutered prior to his arrival in Colorado. Since Texas shelters have very limited access to vets and funding...this isn't always possible. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Dane's neuter and microchip after his arrival on transport if our Denver vet is used. Dane will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 11/3/17. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. Rescue Me ID: 17-10-22-00095Britney (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young dog. They're new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great New Mexico rescuer in saving Britney...she could see that her temperament was so kind and sweet that she couldn't allow her to be euthanized. The shelter recognized Britney for all her great qualities and wrote the following on her shelter card... Britney is a very cute (she will be gorgeous once she's bathed and groomed!) 2.5 year old Poodle/Yorkie mix. She's such a great ... (Read More)age...old enough to be past puppyish behaviors and young enough to have many, many healthy, active years left. At a tiny 4 lbs, Britney is also a perfect size to come along anywhere a small and sweet dog is welcome. Britney is a blank slate pup that's open to anything. Once comfortable, she loves to play and be silly.. but will also love to just cuddle and get some serious hugs and belly rubs. She is just starting to learn about a leash and is starting to work on her basic commands like sit and lie down. Did we mention Britney is great with her foster parents... once she became acclimated, she turned into the sweetest and the most fun girl around! She would make a great addition to a family who is home a lot or loves taking a small, very endearing pup along. Britney is the kind of very loving pup that will lie close on the couch and give a periodic kiss...she's a very loving girl! She was immediately brought to be vetted and then to a great New Mexico foster home to receive pure love and begin her education. It turns out that Britney, at 2.5 years old and 4 lbs. (the perfect size to be a full-time companion) loves the trails. Her foster mom put her in a backpack and Britney was ecstatic to enjoy the trails from above.. and then after a fun day outdoors, Britney crashes on the couch (or on her favorite person's lap). Britney is open and curious about everything around her and SO smart! She's incredibly entertaining and enjoys her relationships when she gets going. If she continues this regimen of socialization that promotes positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans, Britney will become a well-adjusted and pleasant adult companion. FOSTER SUMMARY Britney is an adorable Poodle/Yorkie mix pup who with grooming, great care and excellent nutrition will have a silky, shining non-shedding coat! This is a gift to those that suffer from allergy concerns. Britney's sweet demeanor is just who she is...she just appears to be analytical..and then overjoyed once comfortable in a new situation. If Britney is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, she will become a well-adjusted dog who respects her people as her leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for our sweet girl. We also feel it's very important that Britney is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. We think that Britney would be a great match for retirees...she's a perfect size to be a lap dog and full-time best friend. We don't feel that Britney is a good match for families that work full-time outside of the home...she's too sensitive to spend long hours alone. We've requested that Britney be spayed prior to her arrival in Colorado. Since New Mexico shelters have very limited access to vets and funding...this isn't always possible. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Britney's spay and microchip after her arrival on transport if our Denver vet is used. Britney will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 10/28/17. Rescue Me ID: 17-10-20-00498Gavin (male)

Poodle    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The Purebred Standard Poodle is a perfect dog for those with who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family pet. Of utmost importance...they're famous for their great temperaments and snuggly ways. Gavin is a great representative of his breed..he's a trustworthy and loving guy who is very gentle with family members and other family pets. Being a happy-go-lucky and energetic pup, Gavin requires a certain amount of exercise...therefore if a hike or a leisurely walk is the order of the day - count him in! Gavin would be so filled with joy to run through the trails and over the streams in the Colorado mountains...and then crash on ... (Read More)the couch snuggling close to his favorite humans and canines. Gavin is an adorable and engaging Poodle who is a great representative of his breed. He has the hypoallergenic, non-shedding hair that is so desirable to those with allergies. Gavin will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition to keep his stunning coat healthy, cottony-soft and matt-free. Gavin's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...he makes playmates everywhere he goes. Gavin can be initially shy...but give him just a few minutes and he becomes engaged and social... and that means everyone he meets ultimately may become a friend. You know when a loved one approaches, Gavin's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through his entire body ending in a smile. And if a spot on the couch or bed is available, up Gavin goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion. Gavin is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of the Poodle breed. At about 9 - 12 months old and 47 lbs (the perfect size to be an engaged hiking partner), Gavin has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would like to see Gavin in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he's social and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member. Gavin would be a wonderful companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly wonderful young pup. He'd also be great with older, dog-loving kids..such a gift for children and dogs to have a companion as wonderful as Gavin. Gavin doesn't require another dog to be happy...but does enjoy his canine relationships with kind and gentle canines. We've requested that Gavin be neutered prior to his arrival in Colorado. Since Kansas shelters have very limited access to vets and funding...this isn't always possible. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Gavin's neuter and microchip after his arrival on transport if our Denver vet is used. Gavin will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 11/17/16. If interested in this best friend who is so full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.     Finn is a 2-3 year old miniature poodle, cocker spaniel mix. He is a great dog that is house trained and loves to go hiking and on walks. He is very agile and with training could learn a lot of tricks. He does need to be crated when you leave him home as he gets anxious but he has gotten a lot better as of late. He gets along with other dogs, but does have lease aggression when he first meets them, so it is best if it meets them off leash and with an area to run around in. His favorite thing to do is be held, petted and cuddled.

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-17-00067Daniel (male)

Poodle    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It got scarily close to Daniel's euthanasia time in a dismal New Mexico shelter. It was definitely through no fault of his own..it's all a matter of space. He came in at a very crowded time (but then again..all times are very crowded) and was therefore given a very short window in which to be rescued. After a scramble by our very compassionate rescuer (she has a soft spot for a really cute fuzzy guy with a great temperament!), Daniel was pulled out of the shelter at the last second possible. His rescuer and shelter workers haven't stopped raving about this adorable and engaging guy ever since. Daniel, at just about 4.5 years old and 15 - ... (Read More)18 lbs is the perfect size to take along just about anywhere. He is such a perfect candidate to find his forever home in Colorado - Daniel is a natural-born hiker or walker with the energy and enthusiasm to accompany his favorite person on any path. We envision Daniel with an active family with dog-loving, respectful kids. Or retirees who enjoy spending their time with a comical fuzzy guy would be perfect as well. Daniel would be a very family-oriented pup if given the chance...adventures, vacations or just hanging out at home would speak to the nature of this guy. A fun time would be exploring dog-friendly spots or time spent socializing with other canines and their dog-loving families. At the end of the day...there would be nothing better for Daniel than to snuggle down and cuddle with his family of humans and canines..he is unknown with cats. Daniel can be counted on to be a truly positive addition to any home. He is a low-maintenance guy whose joy at being part of a committed family would know no bounds. Daniel would shine in positive reinforcement group obedience classes since his desire to please is so strong...and it would create that special bond that exists between a trained, respectful dog and his people. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area. After passing his temperament tests and vetting with flying colors, Daniel is in a foster home being reminded of his basic house skills. His New Mexico family has described him as a lovebug and a sweetpea...can we possibly say more? They did say that Daniel may need a bit of time after his long transport to Boulder, to be his happy and very loving self. Daniel is in need of a sudsy bath and a grooming'|. he will emerge with an amazing coat that over time will speak of cottony softness and good health. Daniel will require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his lovely coat shining and matt-free. We've requested that Daniel be neutered prior to his transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to far too few vets in this industrial area of New Mexico. If it doesn't, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Daniel's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used. Daniel will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 10/21/17. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This little girl is Nani, she was found on the streets of Tijuana. She is a senior girl weighing only 5lbs. Her story is a sad one, with hopefully a happy ending. It may be hard to believe, but we believe Nani lived on the streets for a long time. When she was found by a little girl, the family quickly realized that she is blind, deaf, and had a broken leg (now healed). We have no idea how she survived out there on her own, except maybe that she is so sweet people who saw her were just giving her scraps of food and water.     Sheyla is a 2 year old poodle/Maltese/maybe cocker spaniel? mix. Sheyla was found on the streets of Tijuana. She was skinny, terrified, and begging for help.
