Rescue Me ID: 15-08-25-00485River (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

River is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wiggle. Once he gets a sudsy bath and grooming...he'll absolutely be one of the cutest Schnoodles (Schnauzer/Poodles mixes) around. At just 12 week old and 9.4 lbs (anticipated to weigh approximately 40 - 45 lbs when full-grown - the perfect size for hiking, running or any fun activity in the beautiful Colorado mountains and streams). River is every bit the puppy...fun and active....but at the same time he is a well-behaved and exceptionally smart pup who is not yappy or unnecessarily needy - he expresses himself with his wagging tail and excited ... (Read More)kisses. At this early point in River's development, he loves everyone..be it human or canine (cats are unknown). We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching River to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like River to attend puppy kindergarten followed by positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. These classes also create a very strong bond between a pup and his people. Right now, River is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved guy around. We'd also prefer River to be with a family... gentle older children (8+ would be great - we would be concerned about tail-pulling or awkward carrying by younger kids) or with an active adult family or retirees who will include River in their activities. River is currently so portable that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than leisurely walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend) or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. The time is perfect to socialize this puppy to love and accept respectful humans and other dogs. Rive is so young that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed. River's new family has to have the motivation and energy for a young pup...he requires house training, behavioral guidance and tons of love to give him a positive attitude about the world. River will not be neutered when he arrives in Boulder -the Texas shelter considers him too young. We don't... and will cover all costs to neuter and microchip River at our Denver vet after his arrival in Colorado. River appears to be a non-shedding (or very lightly shedding) guy and will therefore require periodic grooming to keep his coat cottony-soft and matt-free. Sweet River will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/28/15. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet, endearing and very fun puppy, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com, fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302. Rescue Me ID: 15-08-25-00276Jaden (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It's hard to imagine this truly beautiful (inside & out) Cairn/Poodle mix in a high-kill shelter in Houston. A compassionate Farfel's rescuer saved Jaden's life and nursed his body and spirit back to joy and well-being. It's now getting to the time when Jaden is ready to be transported to his new life in Colorado. Although it will be terribly hard for his Texas foster mom to say goodbye. She knows that he will have a great life...he deserves it for his sweet ways and always-great intentions. The following is a description of Jaden by his foster mom: --Jaden is such a sweet guy just waiting to blossom. I've enjoyed watching him learn ... (Read More)that the world can be a loving and positive place. Jaden had a hard start - but now he's learning about treats, belly rubs and that he's a very valuable pup! He may very well be initially shy or frightened, but just give him a bit of time and you'll have a new best friend before you know it. Jaden loves to run and play outside...he has the appropriate amount of energy for an 18 - 24 month old, 15 lb healthy pup. Jaden would do well with a family who is home a lot to hike and play with and run freely at the park - he would love that! After he's had exercise and stimulation, he's ready to chill on the couch. Jaden loves to snuggle, be petted and has been said to not get overly grumpy about grooming..we'll let you know since he desperately needs a spa day. His potentially gorgeous, non-shedding hair will require care...a periodic grooming and great nutrition would be perfect to keep his cotton-soft coat as beautiful as it can be. Jaden appears to be fine with other dogs but appreciates those that are respectful of his smaller size. Jaden has also been great with my 14 and 15 year old daughters and me...a true lovebug!! I haven't seen him around smaller kids, so that's an unknown. He's excellent with my mom, but might be a bit playful for a very advanced senior. Jaden is a truly smart pup - true to his breeds!! What a gem of a best friend for a family who wants to include a very cute and sweet dog in their life. He has the potential to be a truly exceptional and loyal companion. Farfel's is very excited to participate in finding this special Cairn Terrier/Poodle his forever family. Jaden will be arriving on transport in Denver on 8/28/15. If interested in this sweet guy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Please read! If you are interested in me, please visit my website, www.breederadoptions.org, read my Policies and Procedures, complete the Adoption Form, and my rescuers will contact you promptly. Hi, my name is Lala and boy, have I had a rough start. I was found in Arizona covered in tics and fleas. I have a limp on one leg and I don't see out of either eye. It is plain to see I am a parti Apricot Poodle/Havanese cross. Since I had to be shaved down due to the ticks it is hard to tell how beautiful I will be. I am young, probably 2 years old. That is 2 years I had to live with those nasty bugs and in urine and feces. I wondered every ... (Read More)day what I had done wrong to deserve this. I am so loving and not very fearful. I navigate the steps up and down on my own. I find things by feeling with my shins. I get along well with other dogs and I was playing with my foster mom's puppy this morning. She thinks I'm just the cat's meow and really quite amazing. Speaking of which I am good with her cat. I already know how to find my foster mom and climb by myself on her lap. I am spayed and current on my shots, I have a microchip so I never get lost again. I get cold easily because I'm used to Arizona and I don't have any hair right now. I was tired last night from all my good vetting and grooming and traveling so I crashed in my bed. I don't need any special care but someone out there needs for me to keep their lap warm and give them all the love I have in spite of my tough beginning. Love, Lala. 080615-01 (Less)

I am an 11 year old neutered male bichon poodle mix, aka bouncing bundle of happiness. I am good on leash, but doesn't get to go often or far. I was raised with a cat and another dog. I am pen trained and love my pen! It is my safety zone, and I sleep there and stay in it when no one is home. I get groomed about every 4 months (a haircut). My previous owners have given me a bath, which I tolerated well, however I to missed the hairdryer finish as it was not offered, and toe nail trims. I am a very happy fella, and I'm sure you can't help but want to spend time with me!

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Berny is a 6YO, 11lb schnoodle. It is very easy to tell that Berny has been through a lot in his life. When we got him off transport he was too scared to even come out of the crate for hours. He was so matted and dirty it was hard to believe that any family would let him live that way. Not only that, but Berny is now blind in one eye, due to what could have been a birth defect, or an infection. Now that Berny is in a loving foster home, his true personality is starting to come out. Berney gets along great with other dogs and cats. Even though he is 6 years old, he does not act like it. He absolutely loves to go to the dog park and ... (Read More)play fetch, he brings it back every time. Berny also loves to just hang out and have lazy days. His favorite spot is to be curled up on the couch next to his foster and the other foster dogs. Berny was overweight when he came to us, and still needs to lose a few lbs, but now that he is getting proper exercise and nutrition he is already starting to look so much healthier. Finding a new home for Berny is also a second chance of living life the way he should. He was clearly not taken care of too well before, but he does not let that stop him from getting attached and having the capacity to love someone. At this time, we will not adopt Berny to a family with kids under 15 because he can get startled easily, and we do not think that is fair to put him in a home where he will feel 100% relaxed and safe all the time. We believe he may get scared sometimes because he does not always see people coming since he is blind in one eye. Other than the rare startle, Being blind in one eye does not prevent Berny from anything. Since Berny is none-shedding, hypo-alergenic dog, he will need regular grooming appointments. If you are interested in Berny, please email us at sunshinecanyondr@gmail.com (Less)

Poodle    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected, Aggressive

Jack is a miniature poodle who came to us after being abused at his former home. He HATES children under the age of five due to this abuse. We weren't told this so we brought him home. He has snapped at (but never truly bitten) our nearly two year old. He is fine with our five and seven year olds. Jack does snap at adults when he doesn't get his way or when we try to pick him up/move him against his will. Otherwise he is a very lovable/cuddly guy... as long as he is getting his way. He loves to sleep in our bed and uses my leg as a pillow. He is aggressive with strangers until he has had time to get to know them. It can take upwards of an ... (Read More)hour so patience is mandatory. Then again certain people have come into our home and he's all over them, loving on them, rubbing on them going crazy. He's had a few visits from potential new homes but they have been impatient and left before he was comfortable enough to approach him (It took over an hour for him to come to me when I got him, I was told it was 'nerves'). He's sweet when he wants to be. He's been trained and has lifelong training at 'Sit Means Sit' however they feel unable to help us in the timeframe we need help in (immediate to avoid him biting the baby). He is microchipped and UTD on shots as well as neutered. He needs a patient and loving home with no little little ones around. $75 adoption fee is negotiable to the right home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-04-00030Gabriel (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

When we are asked about a special rescue dog that is snuggly, sweet and very fun-loving, we can't help but think of Gabriel. His smile is shining...and maybe just a bit mischievous. This curious and really, really smart 5 - 6 year old (such a perfect age for the very long-living Maltese..old enough to have left puppyish behavior behind and young enough to have many, many active years left) is a dream come true pet for an adult couple or retirees. This beautiful 10 lb Maltese (may be a mix but we don't really see another breed that we can identify) is a truly great companion as well as a lap dog extraordinaire. There aren't many visible ... (Read More)signs (other than his initial shyness upon meeting new people) that Gabriel was in a very scary situation...he and 7 others were the pets of a woman who meant well but found the world too difficult a place - she ended her life and left 8 dogs homeless. They were transferred to a high-kill rural OK shelter about to face euthanasia. Upon hearing of the plight of these beautiful dogs, our compassionate Oklahoma rescuers put their story out to the rescue community. Farfel's made the decision to help 6 of the 8 dogs (the other 2 were already adopted)...they're sweet, adorable and deserving of great lives! Gabriel's OK foster had the following to say about this very kind guy: Gabriel is a 5 - 6 year old Maltese who came to us with 7 other dogs because they are in desperate need of new homes - such a sad situation. This gorgeous boy is actually settling in very nicely and although he is still a bit unsure, he so desperately wants to be held and touched as a sign that everything is going to be alright! Gabriel is well rounded and is quite agreeable with people, dogs and cats alike. He is a sweetie-pie and very clean about himself. Gabriel is respectful of his home and others possessions. He is accustomed to being an inside-only boy. Gabriel (like virtually all dogs) can only withstand limited amounts of the extreme heat and humidity of an Oklahoma Summer. We picture Gabriel as the best friend to retirees. He'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share his love and good will. There's also no question that Gabriel would be the most popular guy on the block. Once comfortable, he loves to engage and just be his entertaining, adorable self. Even though Gabriel is usually up for pretty much any activity, he's not pushy or yappy. Exercise..perhaps a walk in the sunshine to socialize with neighbors, and mental stimulation that comes from his time with his humans.. is important to this guy to keep him happy and well-behaved. it's not that he requires extensive amounts, just enough to keep him healthy and stimulated. Gabriel is such an easy guy to bring along. You can just scoop him up and he'll lie happily in your arms. Or grab a backpack for a hike...if the path is too long, Gabriel will snuggle down to enjoy the hike with a great view from above. Gabriel derives so much joy from his relationships, we would love to see him in a family that often stays at home..or chooses to bring along a sweet and kind fuzzy family member. Gabriel would shine in an office setting or in pretty much any situation where a sweet pup is accepted. Gabriel is a great dog who deserves this love and consistency in his life Gabriel's pre-transport foster had the following to say about lovebug Gabriel: Sweet and kind Gabriel would be perfect for a retired couple or individual. He is a little timid at first but once I sat quietly with him, spoke gently about how much I loved him and gave him tons of belly rubs..he couldn't stop wagging his tail...it was as if he was reborn! All Gabriel wants to make him happy is to sit or lie by my side (or on my lap) and follow me as I wander around the house (although, he does get tired of my wanderings and will lie down quietly in an available dog bed or couch). Gabriel is working on his leash skills and is learning like a champ. He only likes to potty outside - he needs to be shown where his spot is and not have his need to go outside ignored. Gabriel is so respectful of my home and me that he would never consider being destructiive in my house. Gabe sleeps on his bed (or my bed occasionally) all night with no problems whatsoever. He's very careful to be quiet and never snores! Gabe is such a sweet and kind boy! He just needs some love and attention. This adorable and very loyal Maltese is a non-shedding guy. This breed combination is also considered to be the most hypoallergenic available for those with allergy concerns. Gabriel will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his stunning white coat cottony-soft, shining and matt-free. Gabriel is being fostered in Denver and is available for a Meet and Greet. If interested in this sweet and very loving and devoted companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)
