Rescue Me ID: 14-08-28-00013Fletcher-PENDING (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It can be a true challenge to find a dog that is both trustworthy and so loving with absolutely everyone. Fletcher the Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle mix) fulfills these personality traits... and so much more. Schnoodles are loved by just about everyone... for their Poodle part that is so smart and learns skills so quickly and the Schnauzer part that is silly, engaging and so much fun to spend time with. Either way...simply adorable describes Fletcher! This sweet and kind guy was a last-minute save in Texas...as is evident by his need for added weight. No worries - young healthy dogs like Fletcher can pick up weight quickly and before you know ... (Read More)it he'll be perfect. Farfel's Rescue felt so strongly that Fletcher had to be rescued. Perhaps it was his exceptional temperament with every age group, or maybe his great and contagious positive attitude. Fletcher has the most adorable face... his dark, shining eyes speak of his great nature and his desire to be given a chance for a new life. Fletcher was accepted Farfel's Rescue without question...he's a gift to a family who has the love to give and desire to to spend time with him. Fletcher is so sweet and cuddly that he can easily wear the role of best friend. At 2.5 - 3 years old and 6.6 pounds, Fletcher is the perfect size to be a lap dog, as well as a guy you can scoop up and bring along on any adventure. He'll always be there when it's time to play or snuggle...but never overbearing, Fletcher has the self-confidence to go off on his own. He loves to enjoy the sunshine be it on a walk or finding a sunny spot at home. He is very happy quietly chewing a toy or lying close for a belly rub. But when it's time to get going...Fletcher is the first to enjoy a walk, playing in the yard or a car ride to a dog-friendly spot. Fletcher is flexible and easygoing. We want his spirit to be nurtured with people's time and companionship. He would be the star of a positive-reinforcement training class..always wanting to please. Training could be a whole family affair to promote bonding and a better understanding of each other. Fletcher is a non-shedding guy with cotton-soft hair. He'll therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat healthy and matt-free. Fletcher will arrive on transport in Denver on 8/29/2014. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional companion and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-19-00301Marcus-ADOPTION PNDING (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We don't know the reason why a beautiful and very loving dog gets dumped in Houston, TX...but there he was wandering in an area he couldn't have gotten to by himself. Marcus was brought to BARC Animal Shelter.. truly the unimaginable for a young, very frightened dog who had never been exposed to this reality. The thought of this precious 2.5 - 3-year old pup having his life taken at a scary shelter was unbearable to us. We responded to his need immediately and sprang him from his dark prison. He was overjoyed! His personality emerged within moments of freedom..and a bit of hugging and treats. This Poodle/Lhasa mix is an amazing one...we ... (Read More)wish we could clone his calm (considering what he's been through) and super-gentle demeanor. He's a lap-dog extraordaire... and just a love who was able to leave the horrors of his life behind and emerge with the most positive outlook and passion for all humans and respectful canines. Marcus doesn't seem to get upset or disturbed by much...he just takes things as they come and puts his best foot (or paw) forward. It's now time for this great and devoted spirit to settle down with a family who will love and care for him permanently. He would be delighted with an active individual (or couple or family with older children) who would enjoy the outdoors with Marcus...at 14 lbs, he's the perfect size for long walks in the Colorado mountains yet small enough to be scooped up and brought along to any dog-friendly situation. His behavior is SO endearing that he's hard to resist for anyone who has a soft spot for dogs. We envision Marcus in a home that chooses to spend their time with their fuzzy companion. He would be very unhappy if left at home alone for long hours...a few hours are fine but much more than that... he'd miss his people too much. He'd also enjoy the company of another friendly and respectful dog during his alone time. Marcus is a non-shedding Poodle mix (considered to be among the most hypoallergenic of breed mixes) and will therefore require great nutrition and periodic baths/brushing to keep his gorgeous cotton-like coat soft and healthy. Marcus will arrive on transport in Denver on 8/22. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-10-00132Trina-ADOPTION PENDING (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Trina was far too sensitive and gentle a girl to be wandering the streets alone. And then into a very scary high-kill shelter..not a place for a very sweet and slightly shy pup. Everyone at Farfel's agreed that we needed to rescue and ultimately transport Trina to a new life in Colorado. This stunning (sorry about the just rescued photo...but a sudsy bath will bring out the gorgeous silkiness of her coat) 9 - 12 month old, 9 lb Westie/Poodle mix (or so the shelter and Texas vets have told us) is just a lovely girl! When she saw our rescuer arriving to scoop her up lovingly from her cage, Trina lit up. She knew, without question, that her ... (Read More)life was about to go through some wonderful changes! Off she went to be fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated, HW tested, etc.. and that all-important temperament testing. We're so delighted that Trina passed her vet exams as well as her temperament testing with flying colors!! The tester was moved by Trina's slightly shy and gentle nature and all the love in her heart that was just waiting to burst forth. As she handed Trina back to us she said, 'go out and get this lovely pup a truly wonderful permanent home. She will make some family the world's greatest companion.' And then she gave Trina a huge kiss (returned by Trina of course). Farfel's is searching for a super-loving and gentle home for this exceptional girl. We'd like either an adult-only or gentle children 12+ family for Trina...she's a gentle soul who would appreciate the quieter and more orderly environment of this kind of home. She would so enjoy the beautiful paths of Colorado - she loves walks and could be a great companion visiting with dog-friendly neighbors as she enjoys her outside time. We would like a family that spends lots of time at home... or loves bringing a wonderful pup with them riding shotgun. Trina is so pleasant and low-maintenance that she's always a pleasure to spend time with. She is great with other dogs as long as they're very gentle and don't expect wild playing. Trina is a non-shedding girl with a cotton-soft coat that will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep it healthy and matt-free. Trina will arrive on transport in Denver on 8/14. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-07-00242Asher-ADOPTION PENDING (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that is dismal, not the most sanitary environment and quickly runs out of space. This is the situation that Asher was put into at 7 weeks old. It's not unusual to see opportunistic breeding with Goldens and Poodles...and if all doesn't go perfectly...out they go into the street or to a high-kill shelter. Such was the case with Asher when it was found that he was allergic to fleas...and fleas in Houston in the summer is an inevitable state of affairs. ... (Read More) We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Asher...she could see that his temperament was so loving and sweet that she couldn't allow him to be euthanized. Asher was immediately brought to be vetted - he was pronounced a healthy baby who needed a clean home where fleas weren't an issue. He was brought to be fostered...and with love, soothing baths, healthy food and a spotless, insect-free spot..his skin has already started to heal with signs of peach fuzz beginning to grow. Asher will mature just as any healthy puppy and his coat will come back with the lustrous beauty of an adorable black Golden/Poo puppy. Colorado, with it's virtually insect-free environment, is custom made for this sweet guy where he'll never have to deal with flea allergies again. It turns out that Asher, at only 2 months old, is so wonderful and cooperative that it's been a fun & rewarding experience for his foster mom. He's like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If Asher continues to be properly socialized, he will become a well-adjusted and devoted adult companion. If he is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, he will become a well-behaved guy who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for Asher. Since he will be approximately 40 - 45 lbs when full-grown, we also feel it's very important that Asher is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. He will be a perfect size to enjoy hiking and snowshoeing in the Colorado mountains. We'd also like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Asher can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere. Asher will be arriving in Denver unfixed due to his very young age...Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to Asher's neuter, microchip and any additional puppy shots he might require. We can't determine at this point if Asher is a shedding guy. We therefore don't suggest him for a family with severe allergy concerns. Asher will arrive on transport in Denver on 8/15.     We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. Amber is the kind of pup who snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her tiny head on your shoulder. She's so new and fresh with every possibility open to her. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Amber from being euthanized. She was immediately taken to be vetted and was then brought to a great Houston foster home to receive pure love and begin her education. It turns out that Amber, (at only 8 weeks old and 5 lbs) is a chunky girl who is ... (Read More)expected to be approximately 40 lbs when full-grown. She is very calm and so very engaging that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for her foster mom. Amber is cute as a button and so silly. She is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around her. If Amber continues her regiment of socialization that promote positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...she will become a well-adjusted and pleasant adult companion. Amber is a gorgeous Goldendoodle puppy with the cutest face ever and with a shining coat that speaks of future good health. Amber's calm yet silly demeanor is just who she is...she just appears to be more entertaining than your average puppy. If she is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, Amber will become a well-adjusted girl who respects her people as her leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for this sweet and cuddly girl. We also feel it's very important that she is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. Amber will be arriving in Denver unfixed due to her very young age...Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to her spay, microchip and any additional puppy shots she might require. We can't determine at this point if Amber is a shedder. Amber will arrive on transport in Denver in mid-August. Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Oh...the joy that is bursting forth from Cooper in every way. He's free (and so excited) from a very scary high-kill shelter that ran out of space for this sweet guy. Farfel's was contacted because it just wasn't a possibility that Cooper was truly going to face his death. This gorgeous (sorry about the before photo...we'll update to show the beauty of this Poodle mix) guy is now safely in a foster home in Texas working on his home skills and going here and there with his foster mom to further socialize this engaging (while initially shy) pup. Farfel's came forth to provide Cooper with a new life that would be safe and respectful...and of ... (Read More)course super-loving! Cooper... an approximately 2 year old and 15 lb Lhasa/poo...has the softest cottony coat ever..you just want to pet him endlessly. Cooper is exploring his foster home in Texas with curiosity mixed with a smile that never leaves his adorable face. He gets happier with each day that he's free from his previous situation and celebrates in his own devoted and sweet manner. When he's comfortable...he's a comedian that keeps all who meet him smiling and filled with love for his adorable antics. In the end, however, his favorite spot is a lap where this devoted companion can cuddle up and show his calm devotion. Cooper appears to like other dogs and enjoy their company (unless they jump on his head) but doesn't require them in his life to be happy...it's all about his people! We think he'd be great with retirees or a family with older kids who is present and chooses to include Cooper in their daily activities. He's well-behaved and learning all the time to be a dedicated and loving companion who can be taken along no matter what adventure his family is up to. Cooper is a non-shedding pup and will therefore require great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep his coat healthy and matt-free. Cooper will be transported to Denver on 8/1.     From Craigslist))))Rehoming my adorable lazy chipoo, she just had a litter about 10 weeks ago and have decided to keep one of the pups, which means we sadly have to get rid of pixie. She's a lovable dog, all she does is lay around and cuddle, she's slightly skittish around new people, but I promise that all you have to do is hold her and pet her for a minute and she'll love you. She's absolutely the most cuddly dog I've ever saw and thank gosh she doesn't shed at all, she's to use doggy pads, and has been an indoor dog since we've had her. I was assured that she was up to date on shots when I got her even though there was no paperwork, I ... (Read More)took her to a vet the same day and they said everything seemed fine with her and that it looked like she was a healthy dog. I will ask just for a small rehoming fee with no set amount. Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle mix) has become one of our most requested mixed breeds. We all seem to love the combination of the outgoing nature and fun personality of the Schnauzer combined with the smart and intuitive nature of the Poodle. Scooter appears to be a perfect combo of these 2 popular breeds. Scooter's gorgeous charcoal black coat lights up his adorable face. The fuzzy spot of pure white on his chest gives Scooter both an adorable as well as regal look. Scooter is obviously very special...he was chosen from hundreds of dogs currently in the Kansas shelter system. It was all about his temperament...it bought him his ticket to ... (Read More)freedom in Colorado. At just about 9 - 12 months old and 11 lbs, Scooter shines with an engaging and incredibly sweet disposition. He is an active guy (but not overbearing) who would love nothing more than a hike or a neighborhood stroll with his family. He really enjoys gentle, respectful kids and would be an active participant in outdoor games in the yard or a walk to the park. He also enjoys the company of other dogs and would always enjoy a game or a shared walk. Somewhere along the line, we think that Scooter was given love and respect..probably because he's so capable of returning warmth and kindness. Scooter is great to take along anywhere there are groups of dog-loving people. He's a bit shy but always warms up with sweetness and warm hugs. We feel that Scooter would do well in any home that offered him love, time (long hours left alone at home wouldn't be in the best interest of this social and sensitive guy), appropriate exercise/ mental stimulation and positive reinforcement training to make him the best dog he can possibly be. Scooter appears to be a non-shedding guy and therefore requires great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep his very shiny coat healthy and matt-free. We've requested that Scooter gets neutered prior to his transport to Denver. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's would be happy to cover this cost upon his arrival in Colorado. Scooter will arrive on transport in Colorado on 7/25/14. If interested in this awesome guy, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. Rescue Me ID: 14-06-04-00022Clyde (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There are many, many Cairn/Poo lovers in the dog world...it's considered to be one of the more desirable breed mixes. This is due to their consistent temperaments and intelligence (some would say this is the Poodle's contribution to the mix). There's also no question that they're strikingly beautiful with their cotton-soft, flowing hair and soft and expressive eyes. Clyde is a fawn and cream-colored mix with apricot touches..gorgeous! He is just about 2-3 years old, about 20 lbs and so sweet . Clyde's current mom had the following to say about this great companion: --Clyde is a love bug and lives to cuddle on the couch. He would be the ... (Read More)greatest companion ever for an adult-only home. There's no dog more loyal to his family members...so devoted that it's touching. Clyde loves to run like the wind and play outside with toys, squirrels or the kids. He jumps for joy at the sight of the leash for his walks. It's unfortunate that we adopted Clyde when all our time is being spent working full-time jobs and dealing with 3 young children. We love him so much but can't provide Clyde with what he needs. Our household is very loud, overwhelming and very, very busy. We love you Clyde and want you to go to a home that loves you more than anything. They would need to have the time to play with you, spend time snuggling on the couch and take you to obedience classes. We said we would do that, but sadly we didn't have time for that either. With guidance and boundaries, you would be the best ever!-- We will only consider a quiet, dog-savvy adult home for Clyde. They will understand that this guy has been a bit traumatized by the frenetic activity of his current family and will have the patience and desire to be a leader for Clyde. They will teach him trust as well as boundaries. Clyde passed the tough temperament tests of a Colorado shelter with no problem...it appears that he's currently operating through fear. Constant activity, kids visiting and loud noises have intimidated him...he has tried to cope by snapping...a behavior he had never chosen in the past. It is for these reasons that we feel Clyde needs to decompress and bond with active retirees. He would love spending the days hiking or hanging out in a peaceful environment with a loving, patient family. Clyde is a non-shedding guy and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cottony coat healthy and matt-free.. Clyde is being fostered in Denver. We're currently accepting applications and setting up Meet & Greets for this exceptional and very loving adult companion. (Less)
