Rescue Me ID: 14-07-21-00414Mesa (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There are many, many Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle mix) lovers in the dog world...it's considered to be one of the most desirable breed mixes. This is due to their consistently great temperaments and intelligence (some would say this is the Poodle's contribution to the mix). There's also no question that they're strikingly beautiful with their cotton-soft, flowing hair and soft and expressive eyes. Mesa is an unusual cream-colored Standard Schnoodle with apricot touches shining through..gorgeous! Mesa is 18 - 24 months old and 42 lbs... and so sweet and affectionate. He's perfect for enjoying the exercise and mental stimulation of hiking and ... (Read More)snowshoeing the Colorado trails. He seems to have overcome any ill feelings and appears to be at peace regarding the challenges of his early life. The Standard Schnauzer/Standard Poodle mix is a solid combination both physically and in stability of temperament. It is for this reason that they seem to acclimate and be outstanding family members no matter their past lives. It's safe to say that Mesa learned to live in harmony with every kind of being...he seems to have derived a true calmness and peace from overcoming the trials of his previous life. We feel strongly that Mesa's forever family should have the motivation to continue his socialization and offer him the gift of positive reinforcement group obedience training classes. Through these clear boundaries and leadership by his humans, Mesa will emerge as a well-adjusted and very bonded companion. He's so gorgeous both inside and out that he deserves a family that appreciates the gift of his temperament and is willing to show him boundaries through love and time spent. We are searching for committed retirees or a family with older children (12+) who spend lots of time at home as a forever situation for Mesa. He would enjoy the time spent together and would blossom with a family that considers their dog a valued member of their family. Mesa reportedly had very little car experience prior to his rescue'|.now he's growing to be a champ. This skill is easily worked with through crating and treats...especially as he gets the idea that a car ride can mean a walk or a fun day at a dog-friendly spot with his favorite person. We feel that Mesa would enjoy the company of a fun dog-friend but it's not mandatory for his happiness...it's more the companionship of a truly loving guardian. Mesa will return this loyalty and devotion a thousand times over. Mesa appears to be a non-shedding guy who would look gorgeous with a sudsy bath and grooming. He will require great nutrition and periodic grooming by a calm and loving groomer who appreciates that he's just developing the understanding of the experience. Through baths, consistent haircuts and great nutrition..Mesa will always have a strikingly beautiful coat. Mesa will arrive on transport in Denver on 7/25. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in Mesa, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-21-00340Scooter (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle mix) has become one of our most requested mixed breeds. We all seem to love the combination of the outgoing nature and fun personality of the Schnauzer combined with the smart and intuitive nature of the Poodle. Scooter appears to be a perfect combo of these 2 popular breeds. Scooter's gorgeous charcoal black coat lights up his adorable face. The fuzzy spot of pure white on his chest gives Scooter both an adorable as well as regal look. Scooter is obviously very special...he was chosen from hundreds of dogs currently in the Kansas shelter system. It was all about his temperament...it bought him his ticket to ... (Read More)freedom in Colorado. At just about 9 - 12 months old and 11 lbs, Scooter shines with an engaging and incredibly sweet disposition. He is an active guy (but not overbearing) who would love nothing more than a hike or a neighborhood stroll with his family. He really enjoys gentle, respectful kids and would be an active participant in outdoor games in the yard or a walk to the park. He also enjoys the company of other dogs and would always enjoy a game or a shared walk. Somewhere along the line, we think that Scooter was given love and respect..probably because he's so capable of returning warmth and kindness. Scooter is great to take along anywhere there are groups of dog-loving people. He's a bit shy but always warms up with sweetness and warm hugs. We feel that Scooter would do well in any home that offered him love, time (long hours left alone at home wouldn't be in the best interest of this social and sensitive guy), appropriate exercise/ mental stimulation and positive reinforcement training to make him the best dog he can possibly be. Scooter appears to be a non-shedding guy and therefore requires great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep his very shiny coat healthy and matt-free. We've requested that Scooter gets neutered prior to his transport to Denver. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's would be happy to cover this cost upon his arrival in Colorado. Scooter will arrive on transport in Colorado on 7/25/14. If interested in this awesome guy, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. Rescue Me ID: 14-07-20-00055Cinder (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Cinder is such a loving dog with both humans and other dogs that Farfel's Rescue was contacted by the shelter in Kansas...could we possibly find a special and committed home for this exceptional Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle mix? We're not entirely sure how this truly wonderful young girl ended up in such a dismal, very high-kill facility...but what we are sure of is that this adorable and scruffy little girl is worthy of a wonderful forever home. Cinder quietly creeps into your heart...her behavior is so sweet and engaging... no dog could want to please more. At about 9 - 12 months old and approximately 10 lbs, Cinder is a blank slate just ... (Read More)waiting for loving guidance and clear boundaries so she understands how to be a great adult dog. She's starting her path in life with the greatest temperament ever and the curiosity to learn how to please...she gets so excited when she feels she's done a good job! We're searching for a truly devoted home for Cinder with the enthusiasm and time to train and nurture Cinder into a great companion (although she really couldn't be more loving and sweet than she is right now). She would respond so well to socialization - she would love nothing more than to come along to dog-friendly spots to interact with as many humans and dogs as possible. Cinder is currently being fostered with 5 other dogs...no problem. She's having so much fun being part of the group and enjoying the yard and sunshine of the summer days. We would like to see Cinder enrolled in positive reinforcement group Obedience classes.. she would love it and it would give her every opportunity to excel in life. Cinder is a non-shedding girl and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her coat healthy and matt-free. Cinder's photo is from the shelter and her coat is filthy and matted. Once she has her first sudsy bath and grooming, we'll post a photo of the brand-new Cinder. Cinder is arriving on transport in Denver on 7/25. Adoption applications are available at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ for this sweet and lovable companion. Rescue Me ID: 14-07-18-00034Angus (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Angus is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wiggle. Once he gets a sudsy bath and grooming...he'll absolutely be one of the cutest guys around. At 6-8 months old and about 11 lbs (anticipated to weigh about 15 lbs when full-grown) Angus is every bit the puppy...fun and active....but at the same time he is a very well-behaved pup who is not yappy or unnecessarily vocal - he expresses himself with his wagging tail and excited kisses. At this early point in Angus's development, he loves everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Angus to a ... (Read More)family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like Angus to attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. Right now, Angus is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved guy around. We'd also like Angus to be with gentle older children (13+ would be great) or with an active adult family who will include him in their activities. Angus is so portable that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than leisurely walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend) or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Angus is so young that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed. Angus's new family has to have the motivation and energy for a young pup...he requires house training, behavioral guidance and tons of love to give him a positive attitude about the world. Angus will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver -the Kansas shelter considered him too young. We don't... and will cover all costs to neuter and microchip Angus very shortly after his arrival in Colorado. Angus is a non-shedding guy and will therefore require periodic grooming to keep his coat cottony-soft and matt-free. Angus will be arriving on transport in Denver on 7/25. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional and very loving puppy. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-16-00236Ollie (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There's an incredibly sweet and kind Poodle/Westie mix who finally deserves his turn for an incredible life. Ollie is about 8-8.5 years old and weighs 14 lbs. Ollie is still in the prime of his life as smaller Poodle mixes live to a very ripe old age. It's sad that no one loved this sensitive, teddy-bear guy enough to protect him from the horrors of a high-kill shelter. The youngsters and puppies..being so new and cute..got adopted very quickly. As each pup left the shelter with their new family, Ollie looked after them longingly. His gorgeous eyes always seemed so sad as he realized he had been passed by again. Ollie sat quietly in his ... (Read More)cage at the shelter...just waiting. He was allowed more time than the average dog due to his exceptional temperament - every shelter employee and volunteer was in love with Ollie! And so it was that Farfel's Rescue in Boulder, CO heard about this special and very well-loved guy in Houston. One of our rescuers asked for our help in saving Ollie's life and in so doing, gave a lucky family the gift of an amazing companion. We envision Ollie fitting perfectly into the life of a retired couple or individual. While he loves everyone, we think the calm and consistent lifestyle of very loving retirees would be great for Ollie. He also enjoys relationships with calm, like-sized dogs and brings his good will and gentle demeanor to those relationships as well. In return for kind nurturing, Ollie would be the greatest friend ever. He dedicates himself to his favorite people and is the most loyal of companions. He's a very low-maintenance and well-behaved guy who is a perfect size and temperament to take everywhere. It would be his greatest joy to ride shotgun on errands or accompany his favorite humans on visits to dog-loving friends. It would be completely beneath Ollie's dignity to be anything but very pleasant. He's a lap dog extraordinaire and loves nothing more than gentle petting and kind words. At day's end...Olliie will be the first to snuggle down to cuddle with his family. He's such positive energy and so wonderful that he brings joy just by being close. Ollie will be the pup of someone's dreams who wants a completely loyal and loving companion. He is truly a gift! Ollie is a non-shedding guy who is considered to be a hypoallergenic breed. He will therefore require great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep his cottony-soft coat healthy and matt-free. Ollie will be transported to Denver on 7/18.  Fearful/Anxious

Meet our new rescue dog, Elvis! He is a possible mix of Yorkie/Poodle/Maltese and/or Bichon. He's around one year old and weighs about six pounds. Elvis is white with apricot coloring. Elvis has a lot of training to catch up on, as he is not house trained yet. He is also learning how to behave in a crate and on a leash. He gets along with other dogs, though he is extremely fearful. He has not been observed with kids or cats as of yet. Elvis acts scared with all people, no matter what age or gender, at this point in time. Elvis does not know any commands yet. He will sit calmly on his foster mom's lap if she holds him there, but otherwise ... (Read More)he's very scared. He's not eating very much yet, but it's his first week in foster care. Elvis will need time to recover from his past. He does pretty well when getting a bath and being brushed. He is too nervous to take treats right now. Sometimes Elvis will walk on his hind legs when he's feeling brave. He does not bark very often. Elvis was a stray with another ARR rescue dog, Presley. They were both scared to death! Elvis runs from people and throws himself against the wall if cornered, or he digs under his bed to hide even when it's hot. Outside, he runs under a bush and digs as far as he can go. His foster mom said it is disturbing and sad to see!! Elvis is not eating very much either. His foster mom gave him scrambled eggs that he did eat after a while but only when he was completely alone. Elvis is young and has good teeth. He is very skinny and will need to put on a couple of pounds. It will take some time to turn Elvis' life around - a lot of holding, talking softly and petting him as much as possible and as many times a day as possible. It will take a very special person who knows about these types of issues in dogs to rehabilitate sweet Elvis. Are you that person who is ready to save this sweet baby? If you'd like to meet Elvis, please fill out the online app today! Adoption fee is $175 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter. Poodle    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Some of us are born with a special passion in our hearts. Such was the case for Phoebe's rescuer...a new college graduate who wanted to put her energies into a worthwhile endeavor. She wanted to begin to right the wrongs she became aware of in the world of puppy mills. Becca didn't just talk about her dreams...she drove from Colorado to Missouri to attend an auction to save as many lives as possible. The dogs Becca saved all had 1 thing in common...they would be spending their lives in wire cages, and when their breeding years were over, they would be killed. The shock was the complete lack of compassion for these little beings...they were ... (Read More)nothing more than a means to an end for a greedy and heartless group. Jacques looked up fearfully with his expressive eyes as the bidding started that would direct the rest of her life. Luck was with him on that fateful day...she was going home with Becca! The handsome purebred poodle, Jacques, became a part of Farfel's Rescue in Boulder, CO to find his forever family. The perfect home for Jacques is a very quiet and predictable environment. We think he would be a gift for a retiree who doesn't require immediate gratification...but will allow a relationship to grow slowly and naturally. With time, Jacques will feel safe to show the love that lives inside of him. As this friendship blossoms, Jacques will be a best friend who will return devotion and loyalty a thousand times over. Jacques is a non-shedding dog and will therefore require great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep her stunning coat healthy and matt-free. Jacques is being fostered in Denver, CO. Applications are currently being accepted and Meet and Greets are being set up for this exceptional pup who will be a best friend and lap-dog extraordinaire to a lucky family. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-08-00079Colette-PENDING! (female)

Poodle    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Colette is such a dream- come- true girl for any family! If you're searching for a true-blue companion that has no greater joy than to take leisurely walks, visit with dog-loving friends and then lie in your lap (or at least by your side), then Colette is your perfect pup. Colette is about a 6 - 7 year old (just at the prime of her life as these small breeds often have life spans of 16 - 17 years) , 12 lb Poodle who has the sweetest temperament ever! This soft- as- cotton sweetie had no idea why she was suddenly on death row in rural Texas....she tried SO hard to be the best-behaved pup around! How could she possibly understand that she ... (Read More)was turned in to be euthanized because she was just too much trouble. This amazing girl...with the best soul... deserves only the greatest that life has to offer! Colette's behavior is so loving and devoted that she's appropriate for any dog-friendly situation. She has been welcomed into shops, friend's homes & cars without question...she's so cuddly and warm and wonderful that she brings a sense of calm to all those who have the pleasure of spending time with her. With all of Colette's snuggly ways...she's also open to a brisk walk. Just as long as she's with her favorite people, Colette is good to go...anywhere. She loves riding shotgun on errands or adventures...as long as she can be a copilot and see out the window, she's pretty good about not being a backseat driver. We envision Colette in an adult only (or with kids 12+) home where she is truly a part of a family that enjoys their time at home... or likes to bring a wonderful, fuzzy pup with them. When Colette can't come along, you can bet she'll be at the window loyally waiting for her family to return. She seems to enjoy her time with gentle dogs her own size, but we feel she would also be very happy in a single-dog household as long as she's not alone for many long hours. Colette is a non-shedding pup (considered to be the most hypoallergenic of breeds) who will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her cotton-soft coat healthy and matt-free. Colette will be arriving on transport in Denver on 7/11. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional and super-loving companion. (Less)

Poodle    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We're so glad that Daniel was able to stay safe as he waited in vain to be claimed at a very high-kill Texas shelter. His safety became questionable when he was slated for euthanasia. No way that Farfel's could let that happen to this miniature white Poodle with the great temperament! Arrangements were quickly made...and Daniel left the shelter just in the nick of time. This truly beautiful (we'll get a photo out of the shelter environment as soon as possible) 1-year old, 16-lb purebred Poodle left all the pain and misery of his previous life behind as he acclimated to the security of a home, great nutrition and lots of love & belly ... (Read More)rubs! We found...to our delight...that Daniel (while initially a bit shy) warms up and is so engaging. He enjoys his time with humans...especially if it's about snuggling or leisurely walks with his favorite people. Since Daniel has been deprived of human attention for at least a part of his approximately 1 year life, he needs a bit of assurance that he's loved in a forever sort of way. He seemed to be a bit unsure... but we notice that he gains confidence every day that he interacts with well-meaning and kind humans. We envision Daniel in a home with a gentle canine sibling and guardians that choose to spend lots of time having fun with their dogs. Daniel would be ecstatic to spend this quality time and would definitely form a fast & forever bond. He wants to please like none other...it almost seems like he's gathered the wisdom that guides him toward great behavior and very positive interaction with virtually everyone he encounters. No stress in taking Daniel to social situations...he gets along so well with everyone...he's a pleasure to be with! A loving family that has the time and desire to form a close relationship with a pup that truly deserves it is our goal for our exceptional Daniel. Daniel is a non-shedding, hypoallergenic guy and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cotton-soft coat healthy and matt-free. Rescue Me ID: 14-06-30-00273Annie-ADOPTION PENDING (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Annie is a great example of why people love Labradoodles. She's a gorgeous girl with cottony-soft hair that frames her sweet face. At 9 months old and currently 17 lbs (could be about 25 lbs when full-grown and filled out), she is an extremely loyal and loving pup who is learning new lessons about the world every day (thanks to the vigilance of her foster mom). Annie displayed her devotion when she was found with her deceased mom after 4 days without food or water. Annie's gift of love and loyalty was stronger than her desire to keep herself alive. Annie's foster has turned this amazing being over to Farfel's Rescue to find the perfect ... (Read More)family to love and nurture Annie while creating clear boundaries through a positive training regiment. Annie's current mom had the following to say about the personality traits of this sweet Doodle: Annie displays the following personality tendencies: Loveable, very intelligent, responsive, affectionate, funny/silly, playful and truly wants to please. Annie will play fetch (she is after all half Retriever)..every time you toss a toy, she will happily return it. It's a great form of exercise for her and fun for me as well. Annie is quiet and calm most of the time when I'm with her in my apartment. She responds well to correction and wants to do well with her whole heart. The challenge for Annie is when I leave her at home alone..she's devastated! She needs a family that chooses to spend their time with this sweet companion and use patience and training to teach Annie that she doesn't need to panic...they won't abandon her. It's understandable that Annie developed these fears after her experience...and therefore her need for an understanding family and an astute, positive trainer to help her know she's safe when she's alone. In return, Annie gives of herself 1000%...tons of hugs, kisses and silly antics. Once Annie bonds, there is nothing in the world that will pull her away from her person or family. Her love and gratitude boils over when she knows she's accepted for the sweet being she is. Annie would be so happy with a family that includes her on hikes, camping and backpacking trips or just a walk around the neighborhood...or better yet, a free and joyous run in a safe area. She runs like the wind and is far happier with the benefit of physical exercise and mental stimulation. Annie appears to have gotten the Poodle gene and is therefore a non-shedder. Her cotton-soft hair resembles that of a Poodle far more than a Lab. She will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her silky coat healthy and matt-free. Annie is currently living in Denver. Applications are currently being accepted and Meet and Greets are being set up for this exceptional and loving companion. (Less)

We're sorry about the sad shelter photo as it doesn't show how truly beautiful Kimmie is. We'll post a photo from after her rescue just as soon as we receive it...she's truly gorgeous and ecstatic! Kimmie is a perfect size to be so portable that she can accompany her family just about ... (Read More)anywhere - and be an absolute joy. She is so excited to meet new people...her whole body starts to wiggle and wag with delight. And then of course, it's lots and lots of adoring kisses mixed in with a hop onto any lap that is available and inviting. The excitement grows if there are Kimmie's favorite people present...she is definitely an equal-opportunity lover! A walk or a trip to the dog park is always greeted with great enthusiasm...Kimmie just wants to spread her love of life and all its possibilities around to everyone she meets. It's almost impossible to be serious or sad when Kimmie comes onto the scene...she brings out the smiles in all of us. Her antics are very often silly and entertaining... but never, ever mean-spirited. The Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle mix) is one of the favorite mixes available today. We've yet to rescue a Schnoodle that wasn't sweet, loving and so smart....and therefore easy to train and wanting to please. Kimmie would be a perfect family dog - we strongly suggest positive reinforcement training classes for family bonding and to make this exceptional pup the very best adult dog she can be. Kimmie is a mix of 2 non-shedding breeds and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her soft-as-silk coat healthy and matt-free. Kimmie is arriving on transport in Denver on 6/27. Applications are currently being accepted for this wonderful pup who will make an exceptional family companion (Less)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Pearl was so fearful as she came into a very high-kill shelter in Texas. She's a sensitive and very kind girl...and through it all she seemed like an old soul...taking it all in but never resisting or nasty. It just isn't in her nature to be anything but sweet once she feels safe. Pearl, at 2.5 - 3-years old and 13 lbs represents the sad opportunism that is so present in the breeding of these popular 'designer dogs'. They're treated so poorly and disrespectfully%BD'%BD|and then disposed of when their perceived use is over. Pearl deserves a great life every bit as much as any other living being%BD'%BD|she has a wonderful ... (Read More)disposition and through it all, still has the desire to love and be loved. She loves to snuggle and show her devotion in so many ways. She tries very hard to show that she's worthy of a permanent family to love and respect her. Her little tail wags hesitantly when she sees a possibility for a pat or any kind gesture. She would be overjoyed if she got gentle attention%BD'%BD|it would bring a light to those sad eyes! Farfel's is searching for that special family for this exceptional YorkiePoo (or at least that's what the Texas vets tell us Pearl is). Pearl is about to get spa treatment for the first time%BD'%BD|there won't be a more beautiful girl when she's provided with skin & hair care and great nutrition. Her soft as cotton hair will frame the kind glow in her eyes that speak of a gentle soul. We're searching for a family that wants to spend quality time with this exceptional girl. She would learn from the gentle guidance and time put in of people who love her%BD'%BD|she'll return that devotion a million times over once she understands that she can trust. We feel that Pearl would enjoy a retired couple (or individual) who will be gentle and loving toward the very feminine Pearl. A positive reinforcement training class would also be great for bonding between Pearl and her people. It's a new world for this sensitive pup%BD'%BD|she'll be so successful with the knowledge that she is loved and chosen to be a member of a very special family. Pearl is a non-shedding girl and will therefore require periodic grooming to bring out the beauty and good health of her amazing copper coat. Pearl will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 6/14. Applications and inquiries are currently being accepted for this exceptional and very devoted companion. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-04-00022Clyde (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There are many, many Cairn/Poo lovers in the dog world...it's considered to be one of the more desirable breed mixes. This is due to their consistent temperaments and intelligence (some would say this is the Poodle's contribution to the mix). There's also no question that they're strikingly beautiful with their cotton-soft, flowing hair and soft and expressive eyes. Clyde is a fawn and cream-colored mix with apricot touches..gorgeous! He is just about 2-3 years old, about 20 lbs and so sweet . Clyde's current mom had the following to say about this great companion: --Clyde is a love bug and lives to cuddle on the couch. He would be the ... (Read More)greatest companion ever for an adult-only home. There's no dog more loyal to his family members...so devoted that it's touching. Clyde loves to run like the wind and play outside with toys, squirrels or the kids. He jumps for joy at the sight of the leash for his walks. It's unfortunate that we adopted Clyde when all our time is being spent working full-time jobs and dealing with 3 young children. We love him so much but can't provide Clyde with what he needs. Our household is very loud, overwhelming and very, very busy. We love you Clyde and want you to go to a home that loves you more than anything. They would need to have the time to play with you, spend time snuggling on the couch and take you to obedience classes. We said we would do that, but sadly we didn't have time for that either. With guidance and boundaries, you would be the best ever!-- We will only consider a quiet, dog-savvy adult home for Clyde. They will understand that this guy has been a bit traumatized by the frenetic activity of his current family and will have the patience and desire to be a leader for Clyde. They will teach him trust as well as boundaries. Clyde passed the tough temperament tests of a Colorado shelter with no problem...it appears that he's currently operating through fear. Constant activity, kids visiting and loud noises have intimidated him...he has tried to cope by snapping...a behavior he had never chosen in the past. It is for these reasons that we feel Clyde needs to decompress and bond with active retirees. He would love spending the days hiking or hanging out in a peaceful environment with a loving, patient family. Clyde is a non-shedding guy and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cottony coat healthy and matt-free.. Clyde is being fostered in Denver. We're currently accepting applications and setting up Meet & Greets for this exceptional and very loving adult companion. (Less)
