1/26/16 Peanut Updated bio. Peanut is 10 years old. A sweet little 6 pound Yorkie-poo. Peanut is being fostered in Riverview, FL. It's Peanut here! Boy do I have some news! Over the past week I've was doing really great, eating a lot, relaxing and trying to kick the doggy cold and I did%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD.%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD So this week, I thought it would be smooth sailing, until foster mom saw something strange and the vet checked me out and said I had worms, YUCK! That's probably why I've been eating and eating but haven't gained any weight! Well, they got me new medication to take care of those ... (Read More)nasty buggers and I'm already feeling better%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD.%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD After this week I should be done with all of my medicines%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD,%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD and I'll get my new blood%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD %BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BDwork and hopefully everything looks great%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD. %BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD But, if you thought that sounds promising, just wait till you hear what the heart 'dogtor' told me today! He checked me out with machines and images and determined that I only have a mild enlarged heart with a murmur, which is nothing of major concern%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD.%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD In fact, I don't need any medicine to address the heart, that I'm doing good on my own and I am strong enough to undergo surgery on my mouth (and get a neuter). I'm so happy, I'm doing a happy dance, because I really want my mouth to get cleaned up and feeling better soon so I can be adopted%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD.%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD And I'm really glad that there's nothing worse going on so my future family can just focus on me. I really have overcome a lot of hurdles and I'm feeling hopeful for the future%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD.%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD I am a sweet guy, a little quirky, but I have love to give and a life to live. I don't ask much of anyone, just give me a warm blanket, soft bed, and tasty treats and I'm happy! I like to follow my person around and see what you humans are doing around the house. I also enjoy going for walks and feeling the warm sun and smelling fresh air%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD.%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD My foster mom says I'm easy to please%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD.%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD I guess after what I went through %BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BDin my life%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD, my expectations are low.... but, I hope that I find a forever home to raise my expectations and give me lots of love!! Do you think you have it in your heart to make this older fella' a part of your home? I hope so! Please click that button and apply to adopt me. You won't regret it! Update 1/12/16 Peanutis a 10 year old sweet fellow. We think he is a yorkie-poo. He is only 6 pounds. Peanut is being fostered in Riverview, FL. Peanut has had a busy few days. Foster mom got him from the shelter last Thursday and he was extremely lethargic and seemed very depressed. We were told by the shelter vet that he was underweight and had a possible respiratory infection, as well as a possible hernia and a heart murmur, so it wasn't a surprise that he seemed so flat. Needless to say, we knew we had our work cut out for us, so the day after he arrived in his foster home, we went to the vet. There he got full blood work which showed that for the most part he was stable, but that he was very anemic (probably from a poor diet) and had high white blood cells (probably from the respiratory infection and poor dental hygiene) and the vet seemed to think that the suspected hernia may be some other obstruction in his bowels, like a polyp or mass, but that it could wait for further evaluation. Since that vet visit Peanut has been on iron and vitamin supplements, and he's a week into the medicine for his respiratory sniffles and overall is doing much, much better. We are hoping to get Peanut to a stable point where we can address his dental concerns immediately to rid his body of extra bacteria and neuter him at the same time, then we will start to look at the concern with his bowel. A return vet visit is scheduled for Thursday, please stay tuned! In spite of being a stray, who was clearly wandering for a very long time, Peanut is a great pup! He has been fully vaccinated and is heartworm negative. He hears loud noises and sees pretty well, in fact has become attached to %BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BDfoster mom and likes to go for walks (Less)

Maple is healing...from neglect, abuse and not being cared for. She takes time to warm up but she has ever reason to be scared. This senior lady came into rescue in poor condition. Years of neglect had her in need of grooming, nails were embedded in her pads and her teeth were bad. She had been used for breeding but never cared for. Maples only chance was rescue, she was not going to survive the shelter that she was in. Today Maple has been completely vetted, all vaccinations are up todate, her tether have Ben cleaned and several removed . She is HW free and on monthly HW preventative.
