Animal ID: 11112016SUMMER (female)

Poodle    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I am in NO way associated with the group known as GA Rescue. MEET: Summer, a true red, health tested,AKC female standard poodle puppy. ( the BIG Poodle) She is a true red with green eyes. On will be on the small side. She is full AKC. DOB: 08/08/2016 The lady was older & could not handle a puppy, she had just lost her husband. She does want me to recover what she paid for her. She had kept her in a closed room or a crate. I HAVE HER AND SHE IS SAFE. When I rescued her, I had her health tested & she is fully vetted.I transitioned her to a grain free puppy food. She is very healthy, strong, can be stubborn, a clown, very smart, & very ... (Read More)loving. She lets you know when she needs to go out & is 100% house trained. . Summer has a very laid back personality , gets along good with other dogs, big and small. To adopt her, you must have references, a Big fenced yard, have home inspections, be able to continue with her training, and any future vet visits. Summer is okay with a lead but really likes to be free to do her business, play, walk,& run. She doesn't mind being wet ( rain, baths, or swim) and loves being outdoors. Summer must have someone home with her and you need a large, fenced area, acres if possible. She is very good when grooming and loves the attention, loves to be brushed, play fetch, hide and seek,& loves to play chase. . Summer loves to play with her toys & loves to play tug with her rope toys. She loves to drag every toy she can find out. She has learned many words, knows basic commands, loves to ride, visit people and other dogs. Summer loves treats, and likes being loved on.. Right now, I feel it would be best for her to have someone home with her and be in the company of older standards or big dogs to learn from. When she is grown she should weigh right around 50 to 60 pounds. I got in touch with her breeder to let her know I'd rescued the puppy. She was under the impression the son bought the puppy for his wife not his mom. I do have to get a fee and the fee will include the vet fees also. I did purchase her AKC papers to learn more about her & also, she would do great in agility.. The money I get will go back to the lady who had her ( except for the vet visits). All rescues must be picked up at my home. I do not deliver or transport. I do adopt out of state as long as I can do the home visit or arrange a home visit by another rescue group I trust. I do have more photos of her, both before she was groomed and after. I'm not in a rush to adopt her out & she is available ONLY to the right home. I have the applications, they are not online. Just request an application if you are serious about adopting a rescue. She would do better with a couple or single adult. She minds well ( when she understands what you are asking). She hasn't been around young children but was exposed to teenagers. If you have questions, please ask if I haven't already posted them. She is a puppy, plays rough with her 'adult pack' & being a puppy, she could hurt a small dogs, under 10 pounds just playing. My little poodles know to stay out of her way unless they are napping together, walking, or know I'm supervising. She does need lots of space to run, I think she would do best with another standard poodle to learn from and play with. She should live at least from 12 to 15 years. I have had standards live ( healthy ) to almost 19. She is way too young to spay. SHE CAN NEVER BE BRED. I have the applications to you fill out I do check them, do home checks, etc. thank you so much for your interest in rescues. Update: If I do not get back to you within 3 days, please e-mail me again. My carrier has had some issues. Again, I am not associated with any other group or with GA Rescue. My purpose for saving these wonderful dogs is to locate the right home to suit their personality. In the last 25 years + years, the dogs have picked who they want to live with , If my pack doesn't trust you, they are right. If I know the rescue has a problem or has a health issue, I always post it or let you know. Dogs can pick out a fake really fast. If your dream is to have a standard poodle as your companion, make your dream come true. You must meet all the requirements to adopt Summer. No electric fences, no shock collars, no crates, no closed off rooms, garages, basements, & supervised outdoors.Thank you so much. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-06-00376Rudy (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Rudy is a very sweet Bichon/Poodle mix who loves to sit at your feet or snuggle on the couch. He is a fully functioning blind who navigates his surroundings, in and outside with ease. The owner is going to college, living on campus and can not bring him. I work 70-80 hours a week, and Rudy thrives on human contact. It would be cruel, not to find him another home.

lnteresting Poodle Trivia Low-Cost Georgia Spay & Neuter Clinics
Poodles appear in art from ancient Rome. Poodles do not shed and are popular for breeding with other dogs to produce a relatively non-allergenic hybrid. Poodles have been used as circus performers. Poodles are widely considered to be French, but there is debate over whether they may have originated in Germany or Denmark.
