Cody is a very sweet dog. He loves people and other dogs. My family just moved to a place where we cant have dogs. We really dont want to see him go so we want to make sure that he goes to a good loving family. Although he is 8 years old he has no health problems and still gets around like a pup. Cody does have dry eye and from time to time accumulates cold in the corner of his eye that just needs to be wiped out.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-29-00406Sandy (female)
Meet adoptable Sandy! Sandy is a 3 year old yorkie/poodle mix. Sandy was rescued from Chicago Animal Care and Control with one eye already removed and the other in rough shape. It was not able to be salvaged and so Sandy is now missing both eyes, however this is one smart cookie and she gets around great! Sandy is housebroken, comes when called, sits on command and is a total lover. She is good with other calm dogs and she absolutely loves cuddling her people. |Rescue Me ID: 14-10-21-00541Teddy (male)|
Teddy is a new rescue. He was sitting at animal control terrified, no one claimed him, tagged him, and he was too scared for them to adopt out to someone so he was most likely going to be euthanized. We thought he was about a 30 pound dog from the photo we seen. I love scruffy terriers and we rescued him. When we arrived he was a tiny 10 pound dog shivering in the corner on cold concrete, most of his coat gone from fleas. He was terrified, but by the time we got home he was nudging my hand to keep petting him. He will be neutered before adoption, is about 1 to 2 years old, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and has been treated for fleas. He's a happy little guy and gets along great with the other dogs and cats. He has wanted to mark in the house, but neutering, housebreaking, and not having female dogs around will help that. We have him wear a belly band while he is learning, which is a simple solution and he is crated when not being watched. He is a great little guy and his personality is really starting to show. He is built like a poodle with long legs and a thin build, but has scruffy coat. Not sure of his breed. May be part yorkie too. We required a vet clinic phone number you use currently, or if no current pets your last vets number to call for a reference prior to adopting. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-13-00072Pugsley (male)
Pusley needs some training. He is friendly, but a bit spastic at times. He gets along best with his mother Holly and should be housed with her. Pugsly (Puppy puppy) has Canine Recurrent Flank Alopecia. It is harmless and his quality of life is not affected. He has had this for four years now. The skin is darkened, and the texture of fur is different than the rest of the fur. He has been tested for other diseases and has been diagnosed with this harmless condition. He does need sunblock in the spring to keep him from getting sunburned.

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-28-00758Pepper (female)
Meet Pepper! She is a toy poodle mix who weighs about 6.5 lbs and is about 6 yrs old. She is a happy wiggly girl who likes other dogs when given the proper introduction. She is pretty quiet, but is pretty active and she loves to run around in the yard and explore- non-stop! She can get a little mouthy when she gets excited, so we would prefer to place her in an all adult home. So far she has been a little skeptical of men, so she will need a family to be patient with her as she learns to build trust. Pepper's adoption fee of $225 goes towards the cost of her medical care. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the "Adoption Process" tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested ( as appropriate), fecal tested, and microchipped. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-01-00225Cuteness (female)
[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] [Read About Natural Seizure Care] Cuteness is a wonderful girl, and 9years old so she has lots of feisty years ahead of her. The only reason we considered giving her up is so that she can find a loving home to people who can afford to give her the treatment she needs so that she can live a more comfortable life. She had an ectopic uterer which can be fixed but we cannot afford the surgery. She had two seizures in the last month. She has weak knees, but it doesn't stop her from going up and down the stairs and running around. It is with a heavy heart that I post this, but I know it is best for cuteness.

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-17-00028Bronco (male)
*UPDATE- It didn't work out with Bronco's new home. He was howling and crying when his mom was away and the condo neighbors wanted him gone. He will need an experienced owner who will commit to taking him to a trainer to work on his fear of new people and environments.* Bronco is a 5 yr old pure bred Standard Poodle. He was given up by his owner because they said he was too much energy for them. We don't believe he has had much exposure to new people or new environments in his life, so we are working on getting him more socialized and comfortable in unfamiliar situations. We are looking for a special adopter for him, as he will need a lot of patience and continued socialization. We would prefer a confident and gentle leader who will be able to provide him enough exercise in a safe manner. Due to his nervous nature we think he would do best in an all adult home. Please keep in mind that Bronco will need regular grooming to keep him comfortable and healthy, which includes routine brushing and professional grooming. Bronco's adoption fee of $275 goes toward the cost of his vetting, training and care. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the 'Adoption Process' tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested ( as appropriate), fecal tested, and microchipped. (Less)
