Rescue Me ID: 16-01-13-00623Coco (female)

Poodle    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis, Fearful/Anxious

Coco is a brown 6-7 year old miniature poodle that has a sort of dwarfism and is handicapped. She was born with her front legs out of their sockets. Her back knees are severely dislocated and her hip on one side is dislocated. These issues do not slow her down at all. Trust me, if she wants to go for a ride in the car she can beat you to it. Her owner has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and is currently in a home and can no longer care for her. Due to Coco's medical issues, she may be in pain at times but she really seems to do well since this is the only life that she's known. She loves to be near her caretaker by sleeping on their ... (Read More)lap or at their feet. She loves to play with her squeaky toys but needs to take breaks now and then to catch her breath. Coco would be best in a setting with either adults only or adults with somewhat older children. (Less)

lnteresting Poodle Trivia Low-Cost Illinois Spay & Neuter Clinics
Poodles appear in art from ancient Rome. Poodles do not shed and are popular for breeding with other dogs to produce a relatively non-allergenic hybrid. Poodles have been used as circus performers. The name Poodle comes from a German word describing someone who likes the water. Poodles are widely considered to be French, but there is debate over whether they may have originated in Germany or Denmark.
