Rescue Me ID: 17-02-07-00626Charles Barkley (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

What a tough cookie this little guy is! He was rescued by a kind family in Yorkville after he had been roaming the subdivision for days and eluding capture. Thankfully they caught him when they did, the next day was one of those horrific cold snaps. Charles was in rough shape, skinny, dirty and shut down. He did not want attention or love, he was anxious and pacing, ready to run again. It is going on 2 months now that he has been with us and he is making great strides. He has put on weight, was professionally groomed(he is so handsome!!)and he has a spring in his step!! The first time we saw him prancing and wagging his tail was a happy ... (Read More)moment, there was life in there still, Charles was feeling well enough to let his guard down and show some of that personality. He is still a work in progress. We are getting him accustomed to being petted and accepting love, once a dog is so shut down it takes time to reach time and patience to help them feel worthy again. We are looking for a very dog savvy home with tons of love and time to help Charles. He is a terrific little guy, great in the house, quiet and well behaved. But, he does not see real well and has mistaken our hands for treats, not aggressively at all, just hungry! An adult household would be best, Charles would be perfect for a retiree that would like a calm companion. His adoption fee is $99. He is about 10 years old and a mix of poodle, schnauzer and ?? Rescue Me ID: 16-12-16-00186Comet- So Sad (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Comet has a very sad story to tell; left abandoned on a Chicago sidewalk in a downpour, he was found by a passerby that picked up his soaked to the bone, heavily matted little body where Comet collapsed in his arms. Upon arrival at Chicago Animal Care and Control it was noted that Comet was unable to walk. Placed up for Rescue, sadly no one stepped forward and he was scheduled for euthanization that evening when Tiny Paws stepped up. %A0 A trip to Buffalo Grove Specialists resulted in a diagnosis of a severed spinal cord with no surgery option. Back to Wonder Lake where Comet has been monitored closely by Amira and staff, it has been ... (Read More)determined he is ready for a safe, new home to call his own. Tiny Paws is looking for a home that is experienced with wheel carts and understands that ownership of Comet means daily bathing, diapering and offering a lot of LOVE. Comet is very forgiving given the AWFUL Humans that were in his life. He appears very interested in play with another dog friendly dog, loves lap time and anxious for daily walks. Comet is between 2 and 4 years old and weighs around 12 pounds. Adoption Fee is $300 for this sweet little Guy. Call Vicki today if you think Comet is a Family match, (262) 496-9324. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-25-00328Chandler (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS* Why hello there! You look like you could be searching for a devoted, protective, cuddly little furball to call your new doggie friend! You are in luck; I am Chandler and I am available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation! I am a 5-year-old, 15-pound poodle mix, and I am as cute as can be! I have rich, toffee-colored hair, and a unique, one-of-a-kind smile: when I smile, I curl my tongue up. It makes all my human friends at Fetching Tails laugh and they tell me I am such a handsome boy! Fetching Tails saved me from ... (Read More)Chicago Animal Care and Control, the big high-intake shelter in the city. It was loud and overwhelming for a little dog like me, so I needed some time to unwind and come out of my shell in my foster home. Foster momma made sure to give me space so I could feel safe and trust her. Now I am ready to find my forever home and I have some ideas about what I think would be a perfect match. I love women the most and do best with them, and I would love a quiet home without young children. I just prefer a calmer lifestyle and I think excited kiddos would be a bit overwhelming for me. I would also do well with an assertive human who will work with me to overcome some of my shyness and fears. Once I am settled into a place and know my new humans I am fiercely loyal, but I need to take some time to get used to new people so I hope my new parents are patient while I figure out my new environment. Some of my favorite activities include playing with my toys, going for walks around the neighborhood, and receiving shoulder rubs. Foster mommy works from home and I like having her around, but she can also leave me alone for up to six hours when she needs to go out and take care of business. When mom has to leave to leave the house, I am ok to free roam while she is gone. I am still learning that it is not ok to 'pee mark' in the house; I have been wearing a belly band to teach me not to mark in the house and am getting better, but will need continued practice to master this. It's a project we can work on together, right? Right! Fetching Tails Foundation encourages all adopters to attend training sessions with their new pups; it would be a great bonding experience for us and it would help me socialize further with other dogs and humans (which sounds great to me!) I am also content to be your one and only fur friend; I like playing with other dogs that are my size, but prefer to have all your attention for myself at home. My foster mommy doesn't have other dogs and I am perfectly happy to entertain momma and myself and don't really need another dog to keep my company! I am a very loving dog once I know I can trust my people and will be your devoted companion. If I sound like I could be the little guy for you, please get in touch with Fetching Tails Foundation soon; I can't wait to settle into my adoptive home and know that I will be safe and loved forever! XOXO, Chandler If interested please fill out an application on our website at or if any questions please email us! Adoption Requirements: *Be at least 21 years of age *Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household *Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease) *Have a valid ID with current address *Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation *Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment *Lives in 50 mile radius of Itasca within the Illinois border Adoption Fees: Senior dog - 8 years and up, $75 Adult or young dog - 6 months to 7 years, $250 Puppies - under 6 months, $350 (Less)

Poodle    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Rizzo! He is a 2 year old, male, 15lb large Miniature Poodle. He would love a home with a fenced yard or an adopter that can provide him plenty of exercise. He loves his toys and is great at playing fetch. We are looking for an experienced adopter for him who can work in building his confidence in new situations with new people. His adopter will need to commit to working with a professional trainer to work on his fear issues which come across as aggression initially. Because of his fear we are looking to place him in a home without children. He prefers women over men, but in time will warm up to men. Once he trusts you he is a huge ... (Read More)love bug and loves snuggling. He gets along with other calm, self confident, non-reactive dogs and cats. He is very smart and already knows some commands- like sit and paw. He does not like to be crated, but has been non-destructive in his foster home when left uncrated. Are you the perfect family for him? Application and reference checks are required. Rizzo's adoption fee of $250 helps cover the cost of his vet care. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at under the Adoption Process tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested (age appropriate), fecal tested and/or dewormed, and microchipped. (Less)

Poodle    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet adoptable Iverson, a 14 year old, male toy poodle. He would do best in an adult-only home because of some anxiety he has while he gets used to new people. He just needs a little time and patience to get to know his humans. Once he's adjusted, he's the most easygoing gentleman you'll meet! He's been great with his chihuahua foster brothers and would do well in a home with other furry friends. Because of his age and size, Iverson would do best in a home with older children and adults. He loves car rides and a good walk every now and then. Please email for adoption information!
