ADOPTION PENDING--Rusty is a male purebred mini poodle who was born about 10/2008. He is neutered, up to date on shots and heartworm positive, but staying on monthly heartworm prevention will cause the worms to die off over time. He gets along well with other dogs, cats, and kids. Rusty was surrendered because his owner could no longer keep him after the flooding that affected such a large number of people in South Louisiana. We promised his owner we would find him a loving home. Can you help us keep our promise?

MACI DOB: 4/19/06 POODLE HEARTWORM: NEGATIVE 10 POUNDS LIMITED VISION AND DEAF Meet Maci the 10 year old poodle. Maci has lots of life left in her. She is deaf and has limited vision but she hasn't let that stop her. She has put her other senses into overdrive to compensate. She easily finds her foster mom and gets her attention by barking a little or jumping at her leg. She barks a little to indicate she's hungry, feeling playful or when she is standing by the door to go outside to use the bathroom. She is good with cats, dogs and older children (younger children may startle her due to her disabilities). Maci is one our FOREVER FOSTER dogs. ...  Heartworm Positive, Abused/Neglected

Sweet, sweet Millie, a little blind poodle, dumped at a high kill shelter, unwanted by her owners. She is special needs because she's blind, but like most blind dogs, she makes up for it with her other keen senses. She has made herself quite comfortable in her foster home. She's one of the pack and knows where the bed and the kitchen are! She goes outside to potty with the rest of the dogs and even runs a bit with the other pups in the yard. She mostly loves to be where ever you are! She is heartworm positive but is being treated. This girl needs a safe and loving forever home for as little or as long as she is here to give her ... lnteresting Poodle Trivia Low-Cost Louisiana Spay & Neuter Clinics
Poodles appear in art from ancient Rome. Poodles do not shed and are popular for breeding with other dogs to produce a relatively non-allergenic hybrid. Poodles have been used as circus performers. The name Poodle comes from a German word describing someone who likes the water. Poodles are widely considered to be French, but there is debate over whether they may have originated in Germany or Denmark.
