Animal ID: 14-1505Sequoia (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Sequoia, a 6 year old spirited Basenji mix who has had an extreme bit of bad luck! After arriving at a shelter in California, we took Sequoia and some of her small-breed friends in order to better help them find a home. Sequoia has such a sweet and silly personality, we thought for sure she would fly out of here! Sadly, 6 months have gone by and she still hasn't found her forever family. To make matters worse, poor Sequoia had to have mammary tumors removed so we are not sure what her future holds as far as cancer. ? You see, Sequoia wasn't spayed early in life, so her risk for mammary tumors was greatly increased (did you know ... (Read More)unspayed dogs have a 26% chance for developing these tumors, whereas a dog who is spayed before 6 months of age has a 0.5% chance). Despite all of this bad luck, Sequoia seems to be in good health, and is really wishing her luck will turn around and someone will find it in their heart to give her the home she deserves. Sequoia loves to go for walks and spend time with people, children 12 and up is preferred for this lady. She can be dog selective, and would prefer a cat-free home. Sequoia would love to find her forever family soon. She would make a fabulous pet for a retired folk and her energy is low and relaxed. I've also never heard her bark. (Less)
