Standard Poodle Esmeralda was rescued from Craigslist when she was 6 months old. We have tried very hard to make her fit into our family of other poodle rescues but it is not working. She needs to find a home where she is the only dog and would get attention. She is 100% house trained and has free access to a doggy door. She is very loving, likes to go on walks, sleeps in our bed or will go into her cage at night. She currently lives with another Standard Poodle and 3 toy poodles and she gets along with them. We were taking her to the dog park until she was attacked by a German Shepard and now she is aggressive when she meets dogs for the first time. She loves to protect the house and does bark during the day but not at night. She gets excited and jumps up so small children are not ideal since she is a Standard Poodle. She will require monthly grooming and we use Urban Dog on Eastern and Warm Springs, cost $40 a month. She has papers but they are not good, since we had her fixed, because we do not believe in breeding. She must go to a poodle lover who has a yard, can afford monthly grooming. (Less)

Update, posting again because Boo needs a new home desperately. I can't bring myself to have her euthanized, but even after extensive training she can't be around my toddler. So she's living locked in a bedroom for now. She's a great dog if you don't have kids. Please consider helping her. Boo is a 7 year old, 7.5 lb, very pretty little mutt. I've had her since she was a puppy, and she is a good dog with lots of personality. She loves balls, carrots, and running around in circles (always to the left). She does not chew anything but her toys, and barks only at strangers in her house. She has been a backyard dog and an apartment dog, and is fine with both (paper and leash trained). She also knows several tricks. Boo is pretty low maintenance. Her food and water stay out all the time, she's never had a problem self-regulating her weight. She loves fetch, tug-of-war, and curling up on a lap to be petted, but is used to spending her days alone, and does like a quiet house. She has gotten along ok with every other dog I've sat for. She does tend to be bossy with them (which is pretty funny when they're three or four times her size). Unfortunately, Boo is not a fan of the new baby, and will growl and snap. She has also snapped at other little ones in the past, so I wouldn't recommend her for a house with very young children. Sadly, she can't stay here. I hope to find her a loving home soon! (Less)

Poodle Dogs can make good pets in Nevada if they match your IifestyIe. Poodles come in several different varieties which are classified based on size. Generally, smaller Poodle varieties tend to be more hyperactive while larger Poodles are more mellow. Poodles love people and are good with children and other dogs. Poodles are easy to train. This breed can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise.
