Rescue Me ID: 16-09-26-00588Lucky (male)
Lucky is a Toy Poodle. We've had him for about 8 years and in that time our family has changed and there is no longer anyone to really care for him right, like companionship, play time, and daily walks. Hi's an inside pet but he likes to roam around the yard to. He is very energetic on walks and in general. He's getting old and his legs are a little stiff when he gets out of bed, but then he loosens up. He's a sweet guy, and I want to do the right thing for him by finding him a companion who can give him what he needs, as it is he's being minimaly cared for. He had all but 3 teeth pulled in oral surgery about 2 years ago. Now his gum disease is gone, which is good, but due to a surgical process, his upper palate is irritated sometimes during the day and he tries to lick it and sometimes he rubs his nose with his paw. I feel mixed about this as I care for him, but I know his life could be better with the right home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-23-00432Digger (male)
Digger is a Sweet 12 year old male Bichon-Poo (1/2 Bichon & 1/2 Poodle) He is a big boy 29 lbs... He was the biggest boy in his litter. He is neutered and up to date on vacines. He gets along fine with little dogs his size but is nervous around large dogs and will bark at them. Digger is Housetrained but does neeed to go outside for potty at least 4 times a day. He is used to having someone home all the time so a retired person or couple or stay at home person would be best for him. He was also used to having his own fenced in yard, but last year his mommy lost her job and moved to a 6th floor apartment where he can't go out as often as he would like (He loves to go outside) She is also going to be starting a new job soon and working full time out of the home for the first time in his life so she doesn't want to leave him all alone in the apartment every day for 10 hours a day... that is not fair for him and would make him nervous and sad. So we are looking for his next and last great furevery home with people that are home a lot of the time to keep him company. As he is an older gentleman and used to a quieter lifestyle, we prefer no young children in the home. If you would like to adopt Digger please fill out an application at this link: http://www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-16-00101Crazy Cakes (female)
This cute female Poochon (Poodle-Bichon Mix) just loves to be with people! She is a typical lap dog and loves to be near you or on top of you. She is 11 lbs, spayed and up to date on vaccines. Her only issue is that she needs to be the only pet in the home. Her current home has another dog and other pets and she is very guarded about her area and gets into fights with her doggy brother. Her owner feels it is best to find her a new home where she will be the only pet and the queen of her castle. She is healthy but will need a teeth cleaning, which our rescue can pay for, for whomever adopts her (at our vet in West Caldwell NJ). Crazy Cake's ideal home would be with an older person or couple, retired, or work from home adult household. Although she is fine with kids we prefer that she be placed in a home where the children are no younger than 13 as she can be gaurded about her things on occasion. Her owner says she really is a luv bug that just needs to find a nice quiet home where she is not bombarded by other dogs invading her territory. If you are interested in adopting Crazy Cakes, please fill out an application at this link: http://www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html If you have already filled out an application, email me at nnjBichonRescue@yahoo.com and let me know your email that was listed on the app and I will look it up. She is currently in New Jersey. To be considered for one our Bichons, you must fill out an online application. Due to the volume of emails we receive, we cannot answer individual emails; if we feel your home may be a match for a dog, we will contact you usually within one week of application submission. |Rescue Me ID: 16-08-23-00568Sully (male)|
Dear Future Family, My name is Sully and on March 12th I was 6 years old. I know shocking, considering that I look like a puppy! I've been so lucky to have a family that has loved me so much over the past 6 years, but things have changed and sadly it might be time to say goodbye. Mom's friend had good luck in finding her dog a new home on this site, so mom figured that she would give it a try, even though I know that it makes her sad. See, Mom and Dad just had their first baby and moved into a new house. I always lived with my grandparents who are awesome, but they want to enjoy their free time, and weekends at the beach. My gram on Dad's side doesn't let me come to her house so when my parents leave they have to find someone to watch me and that is not always easy. Usually my grandparents will make it work, or my cousin will watch me. This past weekend they took me to a boarder and I wasn't such a fan of it. Just like humans I have anxiety- when people leave me in the house for too long I get really sad and panic. Don't even think about crating me. I love to be around people, and need space that I feel safe in. They usually put a gate up in the kitchen doorway when they leave (it has to be REALLY high) because despite my size, I'm just like Houdini. When mom was in the hospital having the baby, I even managed to squeeze myself between the bars- talk about scary! I could have really hurt myself. My new family should be home most of the time, and be able to have great care for me when they can't be around. I get nervous meeting new people but can usually come around. Now that I am on my Fluoxitine , my nervousness that has gotten better. I love to lick kids, but being picked up by them can get pretty annoying. I don't require a ton of exercise but like taking walks around the block and chasing balls around. I still have this blue ball that I found at the beach 6 years ago. It's small, and its my favorite. Mom says that she feels bad that she can't give me the attention that I deserve. With a new baby I kind of understand that. I've been sad around the house lately and really needy. Well, that's it for now. Sully the Maltipoo (I only weight 6 pounds) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-15-00149Gordie (male)
Gordie is a 4 year old, 15 lb poodle/bichon mix rescued from a shelter where he was set to be euthanized. He is a little timid upon meeting new people, but warms quickly and is a lap dog in the truest sense of the term. He has adjusted in his foster home to many other dogs, and while he may not necessarily play with them, he adjusted to being around and sleeping with them. He isn't the biggest fan of cats (he barks and chases them, but if the cat stands their ground, he backs down). Also, he has a supposed bite history according to the shelter, so he'd be best in a home with no little kids and an experienced dog owner. His foster dad can attest that he has tried to do many things that might cause a dog to get aggressive (including bathing, grooming, grabbing his face and paws, picking him up, taking his food away while eating, etc.), but Gordie has shown no aggression towards people. He's great on a leash, loves to sleep with you, and is housetrained! Is Gordie just the guy you have been looking for? Submit an application at www.sohiasgracefoundation.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-28-00044Kasper (male)
This handsome little guy is Kasper! He is a 4-6 year old male Poodle mix who is in the 12 lb weight range. He came to us severely neglected. He was matted to the skin and missing his front teeth and has a heart murmer. Even though you can tell he has had a rough life he is still super friendly and very social. He loves to snuggle and wants to be with you at all times. He loves people and never turns down a good belly rub. He would make the perfect lap dog! He would make a great addition to just about any family! He can't wait to find his forever home!
