Rescue Me ID: 15-06-22-00467MAISON (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Vaccinations Current

Maison is a 25 lb, 5 Year old, Poodle-Bichon Mix, Neutered, White with some apricot, He is up to date on Shots and very friendly. He is ok with meeting dogs on walks but would do better in a home as the only pet as he can get a bit jealous and possessive with his owner and with his things. He loves to cuddle and be with his person. Maison's only issue is that he had some anxiety and was a bit protective of his previous 'mom'. We would love for Maison to go to a home with no young children and also being the only pet.... and with an adult or adults with dog experience. Someone that will spend some time giving him the love and attention he ... (Read More)craves . He has lots of energy and would do well in a home where he will get lots of exercise. Maison's energy would do better in a fenced in yard of his own. He is NOT best suited to an apartment where he doesn't have room to exercise off his energy. We prefer that Maison not be left alone all day in a home where everyone works full time, but someone that works from home or works part time is just fine. He loves to play and bonds easily to his caretaker. He would be great for someone that wants to have a running buddy or long hikes or walks. If you are interested in adopting Maison, please fill out an application at this link: httpa//httpa//www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.htmlaaahttpa//www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html:::www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html:::http://www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html PLEASE NOTE: that we do not adopt LONG DISTANCE! Rescue Me ID: 15-06-01-00374Gent (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Our lovely Gent, short for 'a gentleman of a certain age', came to us from an inner city shelter where he had been abandoned behind someone's house by his people. But that is the best thing that ever happened to Gent. He received much needed medical care and had his severely matted hair shaved off. He now has a warm bed, 2 meals a day and a foster mom that dotes on him. Not so bad for a blind guy in his golden years. Our vet says that while Gent is blind, he is in excellent health. His blood work is good as are his heart and lungs. Gent will have many more years to love his new family. Gent wants nothing more than to be held. He also ... (Read More)loves to go for walks. Because Gent can snap if startled while sleeping, he would do best in a mature household that can work around this little quirk. Please give this sweet old boy the retirement home he deserves by adopting hime! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-01-00366Winchester (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Mr. Winchester was surrendered to the shelter by his people at the age of 9. Who does that? But as far as Winchester is concerned, this is the best thing that has happened to him in a long long time. He is all vetted, cleaned up and feels like an 8 pound champion! Winchester has asked his foster mom if she could find him his very own forever lap to snuggle on because this boy is one snuggle machine. Winchester is small dog tolerant & we think he would get along with cats. His ideal placement would be in a quieter home either adults only or where the children were older. Adopt this fella today, you won't be sorry!

Rescue Me ID: 15-05-21-00617RINGO (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

RINGO was great when he arrived at the rescue, he is confident and has no problem letting the other dogs know that he wants his own space. He is sometimes a little protective when he is eating, we free feed here at the rescue and so dogs do learn to eat together and that there is always going to be food for them. He has improved and I feel that it initially because he has had to fend for himself. I wouldn't consider him to be a food aggressive dog, however, I would advise that caution be taken when he is first brought home so proper observations can be made and if necessary feed separately or supervised with other dogs. RINGO would be ... (Read More)suited to a family that is familiar with the smaller size dogs. He is active and would love to go on walks, hikes and any dog activity / sport. RINGO will need basic and advanced obedience training which is best if this is done by all family members so that boundaries, expectations and learning each others body language and personalities RINGO is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed and tested NEGATIVE for heart-worm disease. RINGO has an estimated date of birth of 18 May 2008 and at the time of rescue weighed 24 pounds. GaDaH is not in a position for expense or time to get our dogs groomed and so expect to need to have him groomed when you get him home. RINGO is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $300. Although RINGO is currently located in TEXAS we use PETS LLC to transport our precious adopted dogs to the east coast. They charge $175 per dog that is paid directly to them and is in addition to the adoption fee. Rescue Me ID: 15-03-04-00136MARIO-URGENT FOSTER (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

URGENT FOSTER NEEDED! Mario is a 3 year old cockapoo who came to us an unclaimed stray in horrific condition. He was filthy with an overgrown coat which was severely matted. He needed to be sedated to be groomed. He also had a skin infection. Now that he is healthy and groomed, Mario has been exhibiting guarding issues. We don't know what happened to him earlier in life to make him this way. There are many theories but that would only be guessing on our part since he was a severely neglected stray. He is not doing well at the shelter. We are looking for a foster who has the experience to work with Mario. This should be a home with ... (Read More)absolutely NO CHILDREN AND NO OTHER DOGS. We want to give Mario the opportunity to become well adjusted. If you think you can help Mario, please email folasinfo@gmail.com (Less)
