Dear Future Family, My name is Sully and on March 12th I was 6 years old. I know shocking, considering that I look like a puppy! I've been so lucky to have a family that has loved me so much over the past 6 years, but things have changed and sadly it might be time to say goodbye. Mom's friend had good luck in finding her dog a new home on this site, so mom figured that she would give it a try, even though I know that it makes her sad. See, Mom and Dad just had their first baby and moved into a new house. I always lived with my grandparents who are awesome, but they want to enjoy their free time, and weekends at the beach. My gram on ... (Read More)Dad's side doesn't let me come to her house so when my parents leave they have to find someone to watch me and that is not always easy. Usually my grandparents will make it work, or my cousin will watch me. This past weekend they took me to a boarder and I wasn't such a fan of it. Just like humans I have anxiety- when people leave me in the house for too long I get really sad and panic. Don't even think about crating me. I love to be around people, and need space that I feel safe in. They usually put a gate up in the kitchen doorway when they leave (it has to be REALLY high) because despite my size, I'm just like Houdini. When mom was in the hospital having the baby, I even managed to squeeze myself between the bars- talk about scary! I could have really hurt myself. My new family should be home most of the time, and be able to have great care for me when they can't be around. I get nervous meeting new people but can usually come around. Now that I am on my Fluoxitine , my nervousness that has gotten better. I love to lick kids, but being picked up by them can get pretty annoying. I don't require a ton of exercise but like taking walks around the block and chasing balls around. I still have this blue ball that I found at the beach 6 years ago. It's small, and its my favorite. Mom says that she feels bad that she can't give me the attention that I deserve. With a new baby I kind of understand that. I've been sad around the house lately and really needy. Well, that's it for now. Sully the Maltipoo (I only weight 6 pounds) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-15-00149Gordie (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Gordie is a 4 year old, 15 lb poodle/bichon mix rescued from a shelter where he was set to be euthanized. He is a little timid upon meeting new people, but warms quickly and is a lap dog in the truest sense of the term. He has adjusted in his foster home to many other dogs, and while he may not necessarily play with them, he adjusted to being around and sleeping with them. He isn't the biggest fan of cats (he barks and chases them, but if the cat stands their ground, he backs down). Also, he has a supposed bite history according to the shelter, so he'd be best in a home with no little kids and an experienced dog owner. His foster dad can ... (Read More)attest that he has tried to do many things that might cause a dog to get aggressive (including bathing, grooming, grabbing his face and paws, picking him up, taking his food away while eating, etc.), but Gordie has shown no aggression towards people. He's great on a leash, loves to sleep with you, and is housetrained! Is Gordie just the guy you have been looking for? Submit an application at www.sohiasgracefoundation.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-09-00221Buddy (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please read this add well. Buddy is a sweet boy who needs time to warm up and trust humans. He has had a rough past Of abuse and neglect. I have worked hard with him to overcome some of his trust issues and is a sweet heart who just wants to be loved and cuddled. He is fully house broken, loves treats and responds well to receiving them. He is gentle. Loves to play and needs a fenced In Yard. He needs a home with adults like a couple or a single person only. May do well with older teens. Needs someone that can be home most times and someone who doesn't take vacations. Someone who can be a consistent person in his life. He will need to be ... (Read More)crated when not home or when someone comes to doors. He is quick and can be a great escapee. So fenced yard is a must. Also needs someone who doesn't get much company over. Gets along with cats. Needs a quiet neighborhood that isn't full of kids. Also he does not like dogs and will bite agressively towards dogs and kids. I can no longer care for him since he has these issues as I have a baby niece due and I would like for her to come to my house. I have had company on different occasions that would stop over. These are adult friends. If buddy doesn't like them he will snarl and show teeth to bite. We have had this happen a couple times. This makes him a big liability since one bite can lead to a law suit. Also the chance of him getting out can lead to someone getting bit. I adopted him from the SPCA and I brought him back after he did escape my home and went straight to a yard with children under 5 playing and we got him away just in time.but when I brought him back they told me if he was found to be unadoptable they would have to euthanize him. I winded up going back the next day to get him because he doesn't deserve to die. He just needs the right fit home. I see this could be impossible but need to try before last resort is to be put down.so I only have a couple months to find him a home When buddy is locked up he barks a lot. Toys and treats do not interest him when locked in a Room or crate. That makes having company difficult. I am still working who him and give him lots of treats when company does come in so they know people are and can be nice to him and not hurt him. If they sit down on couch he is ok. Never try to pet a dog with fearful issues as that will lead to getting bit. He is not good taking out to any stores since he is fearful of people and does not like kids or dogs. He will need regular vet check ups as he is on Prozac which is to help bring down his anxiety. So he needs to stay on med. hair cutting can be dificult as he hates the buzzers. I do his hair cuts my self since he bit two different groomers. I have to put muzzle on him and it takes a lot of patience. He is a car sick dog also. He will sleep with you all night as he is fully house broken and is a great sleeper.also he can not be around any small rodents or birds as he does not like them either. If you live in Monmouth county and are willing to make the drive I am willing to give him his haircuts for life or until you find someone who can handle him. I will also provide bag of food and toys. He is updated on all shots. Vet does his nails which can run about 15 bucks. He requires his nails done often as his nails grow fast. Also I have been working with him On taking walks. He pulls really hard until he gets tired of walking. He is a very smart dog and a quick learner so with proper and consistent working with he can learn to do better on leash. He does bark most of the walk also as he is fear full. I only walk him in the dark so less distractions and he can get exercise. Yes this seems like a difficult dog but I have to let anyone who is Interested know this so they can handle him for his life. He has a lot of issues but again he is to sweet one on one to be put to sleep so I'm hoping there is the right match out there for him.prefer him to stay in New Jersey. Hoping to find someone somewhat close so we can do home visits and would, like to stay in touch so I know he is doing well. This little guy deserves a chance to be treated well. I will need vet name and number and references, I would have never adopted him if I was aware of all the issues. But he is a love bug. We love him so much to let him go but he needs the right home with less distractions.please someone help save his life. (Less)
