Rescue Me ID: 16-01-04-00390Wally (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Wally is a loyal and loving cockapoo who just loves being around people and being the center of attention. He has enough energy to take with you on long hikes but he is also fine just sitting by your feet all day on the couch. Wally's a real sweet dog who's very sensitive to your feelings and will be the first to cuddle next to you when he sees that you're feeling down. We've had Wally for two years and he's been absolutely great for us. However, he is not without his issues. We've noticed that he exhibited signs of resource guarding shortly after we adopted him, i.e., he gets aggressive around food/treats that he especially values. He ... (Read More)can also get aggressive when he feels scared/anxious with strangers or kids who don't back away when he warns them to back off. All that being said, his behavior was manageable for us and we've been able to avoid any serious issues since we've had him. The reason why we're giving up such a great dog is that we have a baby just starting to walk and explore the house and we're concerned that she might not back away when he barks. We think that he will be great in a family without any children and would also be a perfect companion for a single person household. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-11-07-00204Lando (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Lando is a 7 year old Bichon-poo (1/2 Bichon and 1/2 Poodle). He is neutered, house trained, healthy and up to date on vet care. He was always the baby of the house but less than 2 years ago a baby came along and now there is another on the way and they do not have the time to give him the attention he is used to, so he has been acting out by lifting his leg on the babies toys on the floor. Lando loves to get belly rubs and jump up on your lap. He loves attention and petting. He loves to play fetch or just cuddle up next to you and chill out with you. he can be a little timid at first till he gets to know you, but is a great companion once ... (Read More)he trusts you. Lando has never been aggressive towards the baby, but we do prefer a home with no young children. He does not like going to the vet and is afraid and skittish when he goes there. He may need to be muzzled before being poked and prodded by the vet. We prefer a home with a SECURE fenced in yard as Lando can be a bit of an escape artist too. The perfect home for Lando would be with a retired couple or person, or a Couple that don't have young children. But definitely someone that has time to give him love and attention. If you are interested in adopting Lando please fill out an application at this link: http://www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html Please NOTE: You must live within 2 hours Driving Distance of Northern or Centra New Jersey. We DO NOT FLY or SHIP Dogs! You must also be prepared to fill out an adoption application, send a virtual Home Check Video and give an adoption donation. (Less)
