Kerra was seized along with many others from a hoarding situation. She is a beautiful, sweet girl who is a little bit shy. KERRA WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL 3/1/2014. How I act when I first meet new people: Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. You can also read our adoption tips page for hints and helps on adopting a rescued dog. http://www.carolinapoodlerescue.org/AdoptionTips.shtml or for general information on Carolina Poodle Rescue, please visit our FAQs - http://www.carolinapoodlerescue.org/FAQGeneral.shtml (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-03-12-00011Snickerdoodle (male)|
Snickerdoodle (Snicker) Born 12/21/2004 He's half poodle and half dachshund Problems: Was diagnosed with developmental hip dysplasia within 6 months of his birth. We had the ball in his left hip removed. He hasn't had additional problems with the hip. Occasionally (I'd guess once a year) he'll limp due to his hip pain and we massage the area. He was neutered at that time. He's had surgery to his intestine. He ate a piece from a ball and it wouldn't pass. He likes to chew and blankets and swallow the pieces so beware. He has skin problems. We will get his records from our veterinarian's office to show his treatment records. He is allowed to take Benadryl every eight hours (but we do Benadryl twice a day: 25 mg every 12 hours) and fish oil capsules once a day. He has a shampoo to help with his skin problem; vet suggests using it once a week. He's also had issues/infections with his anal glands. No current issue. (Less)

She is happy go lucky and does well on a leash. She greets you with a wagging of her tail and a grin. How I act when I first meet new people: friendly Please note - we do not ship dogs. |Rescue Me ID: 13-10-02-00180Lady Pearl (female)|
All about me! Name: Lady Pearl Breed: poodle/bichon mix Age: est 10 years Height: est 12 inches Weight: about 15 lbs Good with dogs? yes, but doesn't like to share with other dogs Good with men? loves 'em Good with women? loves 'em House trained? appears to be, will also use potty pads Crate trained? yes Leash trained? yes Must have fenced in yard? no Foster home is: Dreamweaver Farms Pacolet SC Date into rescue: 8/23/13 Why am I with a rescue group? Meet our Ninth Dog of Christmas Lady Pearl Lady Pearl was surrendered to the Columbia shelter by her owner with no reason given. When we picked her up from the shelter, the tag on her collar had her name and a phone number. We tried to contact the owner to see why Lady Pearl was given up and to get more information about her history but the number had been disconnected. So we will never know her history or why someone chose to give her up. She is an outgoing little girl and has never met a stranger. She does well with our junior volunteers as well as adult. She is a people oriented dog. From what we can tell, Lady Pearl has always been someone's companion and she would like to be again! Although she would probably be happiest as an only dog, she does okay with small groups of other dogs. But she doesn't seem to mind cats. Alone, she is great! She doesn't like to share her bed or her food with other dogs and can be defensive around food. She is working on being clean in her crate, though she is calm in it. For a thirteen-year old, she is active and doesn't lay around. She prefers to be up and on the go. She would make a great companion to someone who is looking for a dog companion who is moderately active. Her sweet face would be a welcoming sight to see every morning and night. To see Pearl in action, you can see a video of her here. How I act when I first meet new people: friendly (Less)

|Urgent: This animal could be euthanized if not adopted soon.|
|Rescue Me ID: 13-08-22-00572Tux (male)|
TUX needs a new home because his owner was taking in too many stray animals, not getting them fixed, got overwhelmed, and then abandoned the animals. He is being temporarily taken care of, but the landlord wants most of the dogs off the property ASAP. TUX kind of looks like a schnauzer to me but I've also been told he has poodle and terrier in him. He's not too big.--maybe about 10 lbs. He's feisty and needs lot of attention. He also needs to be neutered and groomed. He is around 7 years old. That's not young, but small dogs can live to be 15 or older, so you could have many more good years with him. Please give him a chance! There is no adoption fee. If interested, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. I don't text, so I'll have to email or call you back in response. Thanks. (Less)

All about me! Name: Presley Breed: miniature poodle Age: est 8 years Height: est 15 inches Weight: about 12 lbs; needs to gain at least 5lbs, he just had a dental so we are hoping this helps him gain weight Good with dogs? yes Good with men? loves 'em Good with women? loves 'em House trained? working on it Crate trained? yes Leash trained? yes Must have fenced in yard? no Foster home is: Dreamweaver Farms Pacolet SC Adoption fee: $125.00 Why am I with a rescue group? Presley was found as a stray in Cumberland County. He is a sweet guy who gets along with most dogs and couldn't care less about cats. If you'd like to add Presley to your family, please fill out an application today! Please note - we do not ship dogs. Poodle Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Poodles come in several different varieties which are classified based on size. Generally, smaller Poodle varieties tend to be more hyperactive while larger Poodles are more mellow. Poodles love people and are good with children and other dogs. Poodles are easy to train. This breed can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise.
