Rescue Me ID: 17-06-12-00359Sunny (female)

Poodle    Age: Adult

Date into Rescue: 03/02/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Stray from local shelter Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Sunny has an endearing wiggle to her walk that does have a physical cause. She has narrowed IV spaces in her back causing weakness but no pain. She could benefit from hydrotherapy so if you have a pool, Sunny says she'd love to learn to swim. Weight: 13 lb Height: est 9' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $249 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Sunny is seeking a quiet home. She loves her people and is content being near you or in your lap. She would do best without children ... (Read More)or with older children only. Sunny would make a great only dog or could live with other dogs that aren't seeking a playful buddy. What is my personality like? Sunny is a quiet little girl. She does know when it's time to eat and will let you know if dinner is late. She has a low energy level. She wants to be someone's calm, laid back companion. She needs to be carried down steps or she can use a ramp - she's not able to go down them herself. She is quick outside and once done with her business is ready to go back inside. How I act when I first meet new people: Very friendly, she loves people! House trained? Sunny is house trained at her foster's house. Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: est birth date 02/25/2009 Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-18-00086Scarlett with Kinsley (female)

Poodle    Age: Adult

Date into Rescue: 11/15/2016 Reason for being in rescue: Found as stray in eastern North Carolina. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Scarlett and her sister Kinsley will not be split up. Please don't even ask. they need a quiet home with very few visitors. Weight: 9 lbs Height: about 10' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $299 for both girls together Fence needed? Yes - Scarlett and Kinsley are very timid and will run if given the chance until they bond to their caregiver. There is no way they are ready to go potty on leashes. While they are bonded here we still don't trust them and they are in an area that ... (Read More)is securely fenced when they are outside for sunshine and potty time. What kind of home would be best for me? A quiet home - prefer an adult only home simply because most children have frequent friends over and these two could not handle that. We're looking for a very quiet home with few visitors. Scarlett and Kinsley do not trust others. Scarlett and Kinsley have met a very dog savvy 4 year old and did well with her including taking treats but this is a who is incredibly gentle with dogs (she lives with a toy poodle in a wheelchair). As long as these two are together, they are fine if you work all day but we highly recommend a mid day potty break for them. They are crate trained and sleep together in a large wire crate. We do not recommend you give them free roam of the house for a very long time. They will eventually learn it but they know how to hide and they will hide from you at first. What is my personality like? Before these two open up to you, they are timid and afraid. They will both need a lot of work and patience for to flourish into their true nature which we have finally seen. If you have patience and time, and it could be 3 to 6 months before you see their loving natures - but at the end you are going to find yourself with two little girls who like their people and are a lot of fun. With us, they run to greet us. They take treats willingly from known hands. They play with stuffed toys. They enjoy being picked up and loved on once they get completely comfortable. They are easy to groom and seem to like being groomed. They are well behaved on the grooming table. How I act when I first meet new people: Timid and afraid. These two are not going to come to you until they bond to you and that will take, we think, at least 90 days. These two are a beautiful project. House trained? Boy this was a challenge but they are getting better. Apparently wherever they were, they just went. Even crate training and convincing them that it was okay and not only acceptable but a must that they control themselves all night took months. Now they've finally got it. They now go outside first thing in the am and they will use a pee pad if it is available. I think the new owner needs to expect a lot of accidents in the first few months until they trust you. They'll get it - eventually. Patience patience patience. My age: Estimated birth date 11/15/2010 Please note - we do not ship dogs. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-16-00288Chio Jones (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Date into Rescue: 05/13/17 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release, Chio was a happy and playful puppy when adopted in 2014 but over the first year, he started resource guarding his owner and they could not retrain the behavior. It was okay and manageable until the owner had a baby and with an active toddler crawling in the home, Chio has become snappy with the baby. No kids for Chio please. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? High energy - needs a lot of attention and a lot of exercise Weight: est 22 lbs Height: est 20' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $269 Fence needed? Yes! I love to run around and ... (Read More)play! What kind of home would be best for me? I am looking for someone to play with and that will let me hang out and be a companion. I need a lot of exercise and someone that knows dog behavior. I love to hike and run and before the baby, my mom and I did 5K runs together. I may be small but I have energy! I need a good dog leader mom. I have been known to resource guard and I need someone who will not allow me to do that. When Chio is in a kennel environment and with trainers, he's a great dog. He needs someone who can bring out the best in him. He is very bright and loves to learn. What is my personality like? I love people and dogs alike. I know lots of cues including sit, down, lay down, roll over, be sneaky (do army crawl), and play dead. He loves to learn and would be great with an owner who knows how to shape behavior and enjoys doing so. How I act when I first meet new people: At the rescue I love everybody. At the training kennel I loved everybody. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-01-00289JoJo (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Date into Rescue: 4/3/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder Release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? None noted Weight: 11.4 lbs Height: Estimated 10' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? A fence would be appreciated but not needed, JoJo is not leash trained. What kind of home would be best for me? The previous owner/breeder's health had become poor and so had the health of her husband. After a back surgery really sidelined her, animal control was called in by her neighbors. While all the legalities were in order this time, she realized that something had to change. Kindly neighbors ... (Read More)directed her to CPR and gratefully, she asked us to take over and find homes for her babies. Our 34 dogs have now been with us for 3 weeks. They know some things about living in a home but not others .They are, for the most part, a bit shy and take some time to come around but once they are with you for a while, they become more social. It will take time and introducing them to new sights and sounds but we believe all will become pampered house pets very quickly. We are crate training them now and that is the beginnings of house training. A committed owner can take them the rest of the way. Our best home for these babies is one with another gregarious, happy small dog that will show the new dog how to live in a home. The home will be an experienced dog owner who understands and is willing to give a new dog time to settle in. We have not tested them with children yet and for most, they are so small that homes with children under 7 will not be good fits. If you can offer patience, stability and a confident canine friend to one of these dogs, please consider applying to give them their second, and forever, home. We do know a few things about Jojo. JoJo is still as timid and shy as he was the first day he came in. He will allow you to pet him, or put him in your lap but he trembles. JoJo will need work and patience to show him that not all people are bad. How I act when I first meet new people: shy House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. Rescue Me ID: 17-04-25-00084Benny Griffin (male)

Poodle    Age: Puppy

Date into Rescue: 07/20/2016 Reason for being in rescue: found as a stray in Atlanta GA Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Benny needs a calm home, an experienced owner and a structrued environment Weight: est 18 lbs Height: est 10' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? no What kind of home would be best for me? Benny was found as a stray in a bad neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia. He must have been very frightened and had a rough life during his time on the streets because Benny can be very jumpy and scares easily at loud noises and fast movement. Because of this, Benny would do best in a ... (Read More)quiet and calm environment with no children and with a patient adopter who will allow him room to breathe as he transitions into a new home. He will need time to decompress and get comfortable with his new surroundings and his new owners. What is my personality like? Benny was very frightened when he first came to us here at the farm, but he is now starting to trust our caregivers and he is becoming more comfortable. He now comes up and gently jumps on your leg to ask for some affection. He loves to go outside on walks and is doing well so far with his leash training. He enjoys a good roll around in the grass. Benny lives in a cottage with eighteen other dogs and gets along well all of them. Benny would do well in a calm, quiet home where he can get to know his new family well enough to fully trust them without his buttons being pushed. Benny was adopted and then returned due to biting the owner twice. We have not had any bite incidents with him while he has been back at the farm. Noted from caregiver- Benny is an adorable little guy with a quirky personality. It took a little while to get this guy to warm up to me, and even then, he could take me or leave me. Benny did well with the leash. He did well with Salem the cat and he handled the car like a pro. It seems that in his past life, he wasn't allowed on furniture. He was not comfortable with comfy cushions and made a hasty retreat. Benny is a intelligent guy. He's a quick learner. He quickly learned to respond to ' Benny .' Benny is not an overly affectionate dog, he has his own agenda. He likes to be petted, but I think he'd rather be exploring. Benny also has a habit of 'smiling.' There's no aggression associated with his smile. He doesn't snarl, growl or snap. When I petted him, he 'smiled.' Non aggressive aggression? I like this quirky guy. How I act when I first meet new people: Benny is cautious of new people and places. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. Rescue Me ID: 17-04-15-00279Mack (male)

Poodle    Age: Adult

Date into Rescue: 7/19/2015 Reason for being in rescue:Owner surrender - did not want Foster location: Pam in Rocky Mount NC Special Needs? Mack had cataract surgery and will need annual follow up's with a doggie ophthamalogist Weight: est 15 lb Height: est 12' Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No - will follow you everywhere What is my personality like? Mack is a loving, loyal, beautiful and sweet dog. He is quiet, calm and well mannered. Mack is almost completely house trained, and is well crate trained. He has some separation anxiety so a family who stays home most of the time is a must for him. He is not destructive when you leave ... (Read More)him, but he gets very upset and cries until you return. This probably has a lot to do with his family dropping him off at a groomer shop and never coming back for him. Mack would do best in an only-dog home. He does get along well with 95% of the dogs that he meets, however he is mostly people oriented. He prefers not to share a lap or his bowl of food with anyone but his owners! He does not like cats. Mack does well with children, men and women. He is a love bug who is just happy to be alive! His little tail wags when you talk to him. Mack is calm and can be a bit of a lazy guy. He goes for walks and once he tires out he is ready for a nap. Mack has had a dental, with a few extractions (still has all of his major teeth). He has been neutered, and had both sets of dew claws removed. Mack is up to date on vaccines and is heartworm negative. His vision is impaired, likely due to cataracts but he has not yet been assessed by our ophthalmologist. His vision does not in any way slow him down. He may bump into things on occasion but always knows where you are and how to get to you. He can easily go up and down steps (does this every single day) gets around really well! Rescue Me ID: 17-04-03-00226Sir Duke (male)

Poodle    Age: Young Adult

Date into Rescue: 3/3/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Only dog home, no kids. Experienced standard owner who wants an interactive dog who needs direction and exercise (a lot of exercise) Weight: 54 lbs Height: about 26' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $429 Fence needed? Yes- must have a fence What kind of home would be best for me? I would love a controlled and very low traffic home without many visitors at all - if any. Isn't just me and you all we need? Visitors make me nervous - but out and about in the world, I want to go and do and go and do. I would ... (Read More)even do great with someone who loves to run everyday and wear me out with exercise because I love attention and love to please my people. I also love and love and love to chase a ball. Or bubbles. I really love to chase bubbles. What is my personality like? I am very smart and will need someone to continue working with me on my many cues that I know and love. I love to please my person and will work for treats. I know a cute little game called 'Hide and Seek' and love to play it with my humans. I also love to look for things that my human hides. I would be great at agility and even nose work training. I am very eager to please. I didn't get along good with my fur sister but everybody who knows dogs knows brothers and sisters should split up and not be in the same home. We competed for attention and I didn't know when to stop. I would love to be someone's main man and only child, so I wouldn't have to share my family with anyone. I am a bold and needy boy when it comes to attention and that means I want all of your attention. If you have a huge yard to run and play and also a lot of attention, time, and energy than I am your guy! I would be happy with two people who are stable, long term partners but I don't want a steady stream of boyfriends and girlfriends coming in, okay? How I act when I first meet new people: I am very reserved and cautious when I first meet new people if I am on my home turf. After that I do bond quickly and you get to see my funny and goofy personality that I have if you'll wait out my checking you out period and if we're properly introduced by my main person. If we're out and about, I am happy to meet new friends. I'm off duty. House trained? I am house trained and currently sleep in my crate at night. I am clean in my crate and I respond to 'kennel' and 'night night' when crating. My age: 4/15/2014 Please note - we do not ship dogs. Rescue Me ID: 16-11-07-00193Juliette (female)

Poodle    Age: Senior

Date into Rescue: 3/9/16 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release to a local shelter with another dog named Romeo. The shelter did not have any information on the pair, but they are older dogs that easily get overlooked in shelters and needed help ASAP. Thanks to CPR's generous supporters we were able to save these sweet dogs. Juliette has been through a lot. She was expecting puppies and had an injured back leg. The puppies she was carrying did not live and once her injured leg was evaluated, it was decided it needed to be amputated. At the time Juliette was spayed, she had several mammary tumors removed. The surgeries were hard on this ... (Read More)sweet girl, but she has fully recovered. Foster location: foster home located close to Waxhaw, NC Special Needs? Juliette had trauma to her left rear leg and had to have it amputated, but she gets around no problem on her 3 legs. Juliette also has some arthritis in her front shoulder. Additionally, when she was spayed, we found her mammary chain was full of tumors so we decided to do a full mastectomy. However, there were so many tumors that the vet only did a partial mastectomy and removed the worst tumors. The remaining tumors should not be as invasive due to the fact Juliette has been spayed. There is always the threat that one of these remaining tumors could rupture, creating a 'oozing' sore and surgery would again be needed. Weight: 15 pounds Height: 12 inches at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $129 Fence needed? no What kind of home would be best for me? A quiet home with owners who need a pet to love that does not require a lot of exercise. She would be the perfect companion to lay in your lap as you watch TV or read. She currently lives in a foster home with other dogs, but could live with or without other dogs. Much like some people, Juliette likes to have some 'alone time' where she can just be by herself and not messed with by the other dogs. What is my personality like? Juliette enjoys being a pet and loves to be held and rubbed. She will just melt into your chest while she's being held. She will wag her tail from hip to hip when she greets you. She will ask to be picked up by touching your leg with her nose and frantically waving her tail. She would love to be someone's cherished pet! How I act when I first meet new people: Juliet will be quiet at first, but once she relaxes, she is very friendly. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Currently Juliette and Romeo stay in a confined area of the home during the day and use pee pads while foster mom is at work. My age: est birthdate 3/19/2006 Please note - we do not ship dogs. Rescue Me ID: 16-09-07-00243Jasper (male)

Poodle    Age: Adult

Date into Rescue: 04/09/2016 Reason for being in rescue: found as a stray Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? early age cataracts that don't currently affect his vision Weight: 25 lbs Height: about 13 inches at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $169 Fence needed? no What kind of home would be best for me? Jasper is looking for a happy home, and one where he can be a big part of your life. He loves people. What is my personality like? When Jasper first came to us at the farm, he was timid around people and other dogs. He would cower at loud noises and fast movements. He was just a little unsure of himself. ... (Read More)With each day that passes, Jasper continues to blossom into a more confident and assured dog. He has made some furry friends here, and gets along nicely with other dogs. Jasper likes to go out on leash walks to explore and we are currently working on his leash training. Update: Jasper was evaluated 7/26/2016 by a veterinary ophthalmologist. He has early age related cataracts in both eyees but neither diminish his vision much at this point. The ophthamologist says recheck in 4 to 5 years. At the vet visit, our doctor did determine is a bit older than we were led to believe. Jasper is not defined by his age one bit. He is full of energy and goofy! He loves to walk outside but still needs some leash work. He is perfectly fine with most dogs but I would suggest a meeting of dogs if Jasper is a considered candidate for your home. He loves attention and will thank you with kisses. Jasper is a absolute fool for treats, use it to your advantage on winning him over! He can be bashful with new people, but with a handful of treats he will begin to come around. He now knows how to sit and will be easily trainable for basic commands. Jasper has improved so much since he first got here.. He is no longer the scared little poodle in the corner, he is the confident one wagging his tail to everyone he comes in contact with at the farm! How I act when I first meet new people: Jasper can be bashful, but he is friendly to new people. He absolutely loves riding in the car. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: our initial best guess of birthday is 4/1/2006 but after an evaluation by an ophthalmology surgeon, we now believe Jasper is at least 11 - but don't let it fool ya! Rescue Me ID: 16-08-01-00372Whitley (female)

Poodle    Age: Adult

All about me! Name: Whitley Breed: standard poodle Age: 8 years; birthdate 07/25/08 Height: est 22 inches Weight: about 54lbs Good with dogs? yes Good with men? loves 'em Good with women? loves 'em House trained? yes Crate trained? yes Leash trained? yes Must have fenced in yard? yes Foster home is: Dreamweaver Farms Pacolet SC Adoption fee: $200.00 Why am I with a rescue group? Whitley's family recently adopted a handsome little guy with special needs, and simply didn't feel like they could give Whitley the time and attention she deserved. It was a difficult decision and not made lightly, and this is one terrific dog as a result. Whitley ... (Read More)is gorgeous in color, orange/gold to me but technically 'red' in the world of poodles. A face with white markings she reminds me of a creamcicle pop! A gorgeous tail, not full, but slightly longer than the average poodle. This dog has had time spent training her as she knows sit, down, roll-over, shake, and stay. And probably much more, that was simply all I tried on our first 'date' (assessment). She pulled on the leash and might benefit more from a harness, but again, this was only our first time out and it might be all the smells and bells were too much for her to remember all her best behaviors. Update as of February 2016: Whitley was adopted from CPR years ago and unfortunately has now returned due to some behavioral issues. Her family has reported that Whitley has shown aggression when being asked to do something she didn't want to do and aggression over food. Since she has been with us here she has shown aggression toward both the mop and the broom, and she does resource guard her food. Due to her resource guarding issues we feel she would fit best in a home without children. Whitley needs a home with a dog savvy person, someone confident in their dog handling skills, because Ms. Whitley is going to push the envelope and see what she can and cannot get away with. Once she is made aware that that behavior is unacceptable and wasn't going to be tolerated, she behaves like the good dog we know she can be. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Meet Paxey!!!!!! This little guy was found in the woods by some kind people. To prevent him from goign to Animal Control, we picked him up and took him to the Vet where he stayed overnight and they gave him a hair cut. How different he looks. They said he was a good boy, but cataracts have taken his vision. He did not potty in his kennel the whole night, he whines when he needs to go out, walks well on a leash. They said he was a sweet, sweet dog, but he can't be startled or picked up without talking to him and letting him know that you are going to pick him up. Rescue Me ID: 15-10-11-00282Buckles of Sweetwater (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Date into Rescue: 08/01/2015 Reason for being in rescue: owner turn into shelter Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Yes - Diabetes Insipidus Weight: 13 lbs Height: est 13' Adoption Fee: I'm special Fence needed? Yes - Buckles is very active and loves to run. What does Diabetes Insipidus mean? Buckles drinks water - all day - and urinates frequently as a result. This is a rare form of diabetes that is caused by a deficiency of the pituitary hormone (vasopressin) which regulates kidney function. This disorder is very uncommon and is not curable. Buckles is currently on a hormone-replacement medication (given ... (Read More)through eye drops). It is helping a little but we do not know that this is going to be her permanent cure. We are working with her to find out what works best. What is my personality like? Buckles is spunky, friendly and loving. She is energetic and must have a fenced in yard to run in. She gets along with other dogs and cats - and would be a great playmate to another dog her size or larger. Buckles is eager to please and bonds quickly. Buckles does have a 'house training' issue only because of her condition. For someone who is retired and is home all the time, her house training isn't much of a problem. She must be taken outside every two hours, and her house training is basically controlled. Buckles cannot be deprived of water as it can be fatal to her. How I act when I first meet new people: House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-18-00454Sherlock (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Sherlock! Breed: Shep a doodle - old english sheepdog and standard poodle mix Gender: male Date into Rescue: 7/31/14 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release, can't handle Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? YES -Behavior Weight: Est 50 lbs Height: Est 25 ' Adoption fee: $329 Age: birthdater 10/6/2009 (Please understand that these are rescued dogs, and sometimes their ages are only a guess. We go with what we are told) What is my personality like? Sherlock's sad past history of shock-collar training (since he was a year old until he came to us, Sherlock wore an electric shock training collar at ... (Read More)all times) makes me cry every time I think of it. This is abuse plain and simple - to be continually shocked for the slightest transgression would drive me crazy too. Sherlock developed some bad, and quite frankly, sad, habits. After being assessed by a trainer, we believe it will take a very long time - possibly years to undo the damage that has been done to this guy. He is very strong on a leash but will walk alongside you, especially when he is wearing a harness. Sherlock is a bright dog with many skills. Cues he knows include : sit, wait (stay), up (stand up from laying down), down (to lay down), leave-it (walk away from whatever it is he's smelling, eating, doing etc.), kennel (go to his kennel), heel, here (his recall/come). There are a few other commands that he knew like 'place' and 'look sharp' but the previous owner did not reinforce these commands. Sherlock does have some resource guarding tendencies, especially inside of his crate over his food bowl. This is most evident when other dogs approach him. Our caregiver can now put his bowl in and take it out of the crate with no issues. This is a huge improvement from when he first came here. Also, according to what his previous owner witnessed with him, he does not like to be approached while he is lying down. He will growl, show teeth and or bite. We have not seen this at the farm, however farm-life and home-life are two different things, and he may resort to this behavior again once he is back in a home. Also according to his behavior with his previous owner, he could not be bathed or groomed without a muzzle. At first, we were able to do both without a muzzle here, but again he is out of his comfort zone, and sometimes dog's do not show their 'true nature' until they are comfortable. A few months into his stay with CPR, he did get wild during grooming and we chose to get him shaved down under sedation but we're going to try again. We have had two bite incidents at the farm with Sherlock. In both cases, Sherlock warned the caregiver repeatedly and the warning one time was ignored and the second time, Sherlock had a rag wrapped around his foot and it was cutting off circulation. Our caregiver was a new one and did not know he had time to call for help so he tried to remove the rag himself. It was painful and Sherlock snapped at him In both cases, the bite broke skin but did not require stitches or a doctor's visit. On a positive note, Sherlock is a happy, affectionate dog. There is much more to him than some bad habits, he loves attention and he loves to be petted. Sherlock is house and crate trained, and is VERY well mannered indoors. He really is a sweet dog who could make someone a wonderful companion, if you are are strong dog leader who understands this dog must always be closely monitored and whose energy must be drawn to positive activities. He loves to run and would make a great jogging or hiking companion. Who I am seeking: Because of his behavior, we understand Sherlock may be with for the rest of his life so he is available for virtual adoption and is seeking sponsors to help us afford to care for him. If you hate shocking dogs as much as I do, then consider Sherlock as your virtually adoptable favorite guy. Thinking you can handle him - we have requirements for Sherlock. He must be adopted by someone who is a very experienced dog-owner. Preferably someone who has experience with the breed and with the behaviors that we are describing. He must be an only dog - other animals overwhelm him and spark some of these bad habits of his. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture, and not to discriminate against older dogs. You never know which dog will steal your heart when you meet them! Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.
