Rescue Me ID: 17-12-17-00360Hosanna (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Date into Rescue: 9/30/2017 ~~My age: Estimated birth date 10/5/2007 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release to GA shelter-lifestyle change Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Hosanna takes Rimadyl twice a day for pain management because she has 2 fused discs in her back and Enalapril twice a day for a heart murmur Weight: 9 lbs Height: 8.5' a the shoulder Adoption fee: $269 Fence needed? not needed What kind of home would be best for me? A nice quiet retirement home where I can relax. I am good with other dogs or I could be someone's princess. I would not do well with children simply because they are too ... (Read More)rowdy for me. What is my personality like? My brother and I were released to a local GA shelter due to some kind of life style change with our previous owners. We are a little lost right now and looking to find some type of comfort again. I'm just a little old lady still trying to figure this big world out. I don't make any noises, I don't bother anyone and I wouldn't hurt a fly. Don't let my age fool you though I have a curious mind that leads to sniffing everything I can. I don't care for treats and would much rather prefer a nice warm spot to bask in the sun. How do I act when I first meet new people? Shy, but sweet. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-12-17-00354Homie (male)

Poodle    Age: Young Adult

Date into Rescue: 9/30/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release to GA shelter-lifestyle change Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Homie has heart worms. He will be adopted with a years worth of heart worm prevention. Weight: 15 lbs Height: 13' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $269 Fence needed? I won't need a fence but I will need practice on a leash. What kind of home would be best for me? A happy home that will teach me and mold me. I really want to be an only dog. I shared my life with a sister but she is older and I want to play. What is my personality like? Homie has really come out of his shell in the ... (Read More)time he has been with us. He was fearful and shut down originally but no more. Now he's ready to play. How do I act when I first meet new people? Distracted - Home is busy looking at all the sights and sounds and new friends so he's a little scattered at first. More tips and tidbits: My sister and I were released to a GA shelter because our owner had a life-style change. My sister was adopted and I am glad for her cause she is older and that takes longer. Now I need to learn some life skills and I will turn into the poodle you want me to be. Homie's back end looks very different from his front - his hair is not the pretty curly tight curls of a poodle. It is straight and a darker color. This usually means there was scarring to his skin. Our best guess is flea allergy dermatitis. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Estimated birth date 10/3/2013 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-15-00353Brielle (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Adult

Date into Rescue: 2/28/2017 Reason for being in rescue: breeder/owner release, owner relocating. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? none noted Weight: 45.4 lbs Height: Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? A fence would be helpful until she is acclimated. What kind of home would be best for me? Brielle needs a quiet, more reserved home with owners that have a soft spot for timid dogs. Brielle reportedly has some standard poodle in her but we don't see much and she does shed. What is my personality like? Brielle came to the farm as an owner release with a few others. From day one she has always been timid and ... (Read More)scared while her other siblings have came out of their shells and found homes. Brielle is the type of dog that will need plenty of one on one time to get her where she needs to be in life. Everyone at the farm has worked with her and she will now take treats out of our hands but she could really use help in a permanent home to help her grow. She has great potential with a sweet and gentle nature and just needs a special person to help her along her way. How I act when I first meet new people: Cautious. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Birth date 1/2/2010 Please note - we do no/t ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Rescue Me ID: 15-10-11-00282Buckles of Sweetwater (female)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Date into Rescue: 08/01/2015 Reason for being in rescue: owner turn into shelter Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Yes - Diabetes Insipidus Weight: 13 lbs Height: est 13' Adoption Fee: I'm special Fence needed? Yes - Buckles is very active and loves to run. What does Diabetes Insipidus mean? Buckles drinks water - all day - and urinates frequently as a result. This is a rare form of diabetes that is caused by a deficiency of the pituitary hormone (vasopressin) which regulates kidney function. This disorder is very uncommon and is not curable. Buckles is currently on a hormone-replacement medication (given ... (Read More)through eye drops). It is helping a little but we do not know that this is going to be her permanent cure. We are working with her to find out what works best. What is my personality like? Buckles is spunky, friendly and loving. She is energetic and must have a fenced in yard to run in. She gets along with other dogs and cats - and would be a great playmate to another dog her size or larger. Buckles is eager to please and bonds quickly. Buckles does have a 'house training' issue only because of her condition. For someone who is retired and is home all the time, her house training isn't much of a problem. She must be taken outside every two hours, and her house training is basically controlled. Buckles cannot be deprived of water as it can be fatal to her. How I act when I first meet new people: House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
