Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

All about me! Name: Goldie Breed: mini poodle Age: est 7 years Height: est 11 inches Weight: about 11 lbs Good with dogs? yes Good with men? loves 'em Good with women? loves 'em House trained? yes Crate trained? yes (I do not like them) Leash trained? yes Must have fenced in yard? no Foster home is: Debi in Sanford, NC Adoption fee: $225.00 Date into rescue: 1/3/2014 Why am I with a rescue group? UPDATE 1/3/2015: Wow! Life can certainly throw you a curve and everything changes. I thought I had found my forever home but unfortunately, her lifestyle changed and instead of being home, most of the time, she is traveling. I ... (Read More)do have some separation anxiety, I have been miserable by myself or even with her friends. She decided that her lifestyle and I don't match any more so here I am. I am a beautiful, miniature poodle who has a lot of love to give. I do not like to be alone and just want to be with my human! I am house trained, leash trained, crate trained (but I do not like it!), know how to 'sit' and am working on 'stay'. If you are someone who is home most of the time then I am your 'snuggle bunny'. I also love to sleep on your bed!. Does this sound like your home? If so, please go to our webpage and apply! UPDATE 12/12/2013: Look at my new pictures! My hair has grown in and I am beautiful!. I really would like to have a new forever home for Christmas! They discovered that I have what are called 'partial motor seizures' These are a result of the stress from the bladder infections. Since I have been on my medicine- (about $10/month) I have been just great! I take my medicine once a day. I will sit and wait for you to give it to me because I know I get a treat after I take it. I love to go in the car wherever you are going, walks are wonderful (there is so much to see). If you need a snuggle bunny, I am your girl! If there is someone home most of the day, please go to our web page and apply! See you soon! I was originally adopted from the shelter as a puppy, but sadly, things change and when they could no longer care for me, they returned me to the shelter (6 years later). I was not feeling well, so the shelter called CPR for help. I had bladder stones (per my doctor), as a result of untreated, repeated bladder infections. They removed the stones and I was also very matted, so they shaved my hair. I am really feeling much, much better! They say I am just a beautiful color and my eyes are a copper color. I am house trained, crate trained, and I love everyone I meet--I am really a very social girl! I will follow you all over the house and when you sit down, I love to be in your lap. If you are looking for a real snuggler, then I am your girl! My ideal home is one where someone is home for most of the day. I hope you will complete an application and we can meet very soon! How I act when I first meet new people: Friendly Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Poodle Mix

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Tiger of Loudon! Breed: poodle miniature Gender: male Adoption Fee: $169 We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. You never know which dog will walk right into your heart when you meet them. Date into Rescue: 10/18/2014 Reason for being in rescue: found as a stray Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? none Weight: est 12 Height: est 12 Thank you Ann A for sponsoring me! Why am I up for adoption - Tiger was found as a stray in mid Tennessee What is my personality like? friendly and busy happy guy How I act when I first meet new ... (Read More)people: friendly My age: The shelter said 3 - we're thinking closer to 10 Tiger is so happy. He went to New York recently with our staff and had a great time meeting and greeting new people. He is a lot older than the shelter originally told us so we're thinking he would be best in a home that is quieter than the busy environment we were in there but he hung in there with the youngsters. Tiger gets along well with the dogs in his foster home. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed in the kitchen and usually gets up at least once to tinkle on the pee pad left out for him. He would probably like to snuggle with you. At one time he was a once loved little boy and even though he's a little white around the muzzle now, he'd love to be that special little boy again. Rescue Me ID: 14-12-23-00162Colby (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Colby! Breed: yorkie poo Gender: male Adoption Fee: $200 Date into Rescue: 8/22/14 Reason for being in rescue: Owner Release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? No Weight: Est 10 lbs Height: Est 9' Why am I with a rescue? Carolina Poodle Rescue saved 21 poodle mixes from Washington NC. It started with a call from a eastern NC shelter. 7 little babies, poodle mixes, brought in by a local who was being threatened by DSS to take her grandchildren out of her home if conditions didn't improve. 7 went to the shelter. 7 were called in to us. It ended with 21 little souls all together - most of them ... (Read More)under a year - being picked up by CPR after we got directly in touch with the owner and offered our services. 21 doggies were transported to a vet to be checked. Ragged and stinking, hair loss and scabs and fleas and dirt, it was hard to tell what was going on until a professional took a look. Diagnosis? Sarcoptic mange on every single one of them - and some have demodex mange. Colby is one with demodex. He will need a lifetime of care for this condition but it is not contagious to other dogs or to humans. Revolution works well as a treatment and since all dogs need heartworm and flea/tick preventative anyway, Revolution is the way to go. What is my personality like? Colby is now fully vetted and on the search for his forever home. He is a little shy at first and definitely needs to be adopted to someone who has at least one other dog. He loves other animals and would thrive best in a home where he could learn from an older brother or sister. Colby is a real sweet heart! Who I am seeking: Someone who will love me Age: est 1 year 6 months Please understand that these are rescued dogs, and sometimes their ages are only a guess. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture, and not to discriminate against older dogs. You never know which dog will steal your heart when you meet them! Must have fenced in yard? no Foster home is: Debi in Sanford, NC Adoption fee: $200.00 Date into rescue: 5/29/2014 Why am I with a rescue group? Life can throw a curve sometimes and that is what happened to us. It was just my mom and I for 8 years and then a merger happened and my mom lost her job. ... (Read More)She found another one, but it just doesn't pay enough for my medicine and blood tests--see I am an epileptic. My medicine is not real expensive (about $35/month), but every once in awhile I have to have blood tests done to check the level of my medicine. This blood test makes sure that my dosage is correct. Add that to grooming, vaccinations, heartworm prevention, annual physicals, etc. and it was just too much for mom. She did not want me to miss having proper care so she contacted these great folks at CPR and here I am. I am a very happy and loving little girl. I love car rides, sun bathing on the deck, snuggling in your lap and sleeping in the bed with you. I am really good at letting you know when I need to go out to potty, food is a favorite (especially cheese), and I get along really well with my foster brothers and sisters. My tail wags most of the time--oh I also know my name and will come when you call me. Pleasenpo young children as I may Right now I need some sponsors to help pay for my care--can you help? My mom died a couple of years ago and my dad had been taking care of me. They had rescued me from Animal Control when I was 4 and I was living a great life. Unfortunately, life can cause things to change and that is ... (Read More)what happened to me. My dad is facing some health challenges so he contacted these great folks at CPR for help. Here I am, and life is still great! I am in a fantastic foster home with good food, warm beds, wonderful walks and some great, new friends. Even though I am blind, it does not slow me down. My foster mom took me to a great eye specialist here and she can tell you more about my condition. It is not cataracts and unfortunately there isn't anything they can do to restore my eyesight. I am not in any pain and I have adapted very well. I navigate all over my new foster home, although I would do best in a home with another dog to be able to be my buddy. I am a real snuggle bunny and am looking for a place to call my own, forever. If that is with you, please go to our web page and complete an application. I look forward to meeting you! How I act when I first meet new people: Friendly Please note - we do not ship dogs. I am still improving but my vet believes I can improve even more. I need you to make this happen. I need some blood tests over the next few weeks. They are going ... (Read More)to make some changes to my medication and have to test me as we progress. We need about $400.00 to pay for the tests and medication.. Can you please help me as I continue on this journey? If you can give even a little, please go to our donation page and say it is for 'Prissy of Raleigh'. Thank you so much, between us we can make it happen! UPDATE 10/5/2013: It has been awhile since my mom has updated my information. We have been working very hard to get my seizures under control and I am continuing to improve everyday. I am a real snuggle bunny and love to sit on your lap. I don't like to be by myself so I really want a family that will take me with them! Is this you? PRISSY'S UPDATE- 12/24/2012: Happy Holidays to everyone! I am doing well. We are working very hard to reach our goal of no more than 1 seizure (hopefully a mild one) per month. I am a very happy, little girl who loves to sit on your lap and cuddle. I love to go in the car or I will sleep in a bed at your feet. I would do best with someone who is home most of the time as I really get lonely. While my medicine is not very expensive, my testing can be, while we are trying to reach my goal. If you can donate to help my foster mom, please go to our webpage and state it is for Prissy. Thanks! UPDATE FROM PRISSY-7/8/2012: I am such a happy little girl. I have now been 30 days with no seizures! YAY! Mom says if I stay seizure free for another 60 days, the vet will do more bloodwork and I will be ready for my forever home. I run and play, am getting really good at going outside with the pack, love to go for walks and rides in the car! Life is fantastic and I am really having a great time exploring my new world-every day is a new adventure. More later! Why am I with a rescue group? This beautiful, little girl was surrendered by her owner as she could no longer afford to care for her. They were facing some real life challenges and Prissy has epilepsy. Not only could they not afford to get her the vaccinations and regular veterinary care she needed, but they also could not afford to buy her medicine. Prissy's owner turned to us and thanks to a wonderful angel, we were able to bring her into foster care, get her updated on all her vaccinations, have the necessary blood tests completed and get her started back on the necessary medicine for her epilepsy! Many thanks to her sponsor. Prissy loves everyone she meets and is extremely quiet and laid back. She loves to travel in a car, curl up in your lap, or curl up on a pillow. She also loves to give 'poodle kisses'. As soon as we can get her medication levels regulated, she will be looking for her forever home. If you have a very special place in your heart and in your home for this little girl, please go to our applications page and apply! No Weight: Est 25 lbs Height: Est 13' What is my personality like? Betsy is a very unique, special little girl. She came to us a month ago, and it was obvious she had limited vision, and not to mention a loss of hair on her back. Despite all of these changes, and the fact that she could not see, her tail never stopped wagging. She has been the most gentle, sweet and perfect resident at CPR. Betsy is fully crate ... We found out that Betsy does have a heart murmer (grade 3 out of 5), and is now on some medication to help control her heart. She is blind in her left eye, and limited in her right. Annabell would be an easy dog for someone, since she is quiet and calm. She is definitely not the type of dog who wants to go on long walks or travel the world - she is content in her own space. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-18-00454Sherlock (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Sherlock! Breed: OES/Poodle Gender: male Adoption Fee: $350 Date into Rescue: 7/31/14 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? YES -Behavior Weight: Est 50 lbs Height: Est 25 ' What is my personality like? Because of Sherlocks' history of shock-collar training, he has unfortunately developed some bad, and quite frankly, sad, habits. After being assessed by a trainer, we believe it will take several months, possibly years to undo the damage that has been done to this guy. He is very strong on a leash but will walk alongside you, especially when he is ... (Read More)wearing a harness. Commands he knows: sit, wait (stay), up (stand up from laying down), down (to lay down), leave-it (walk away from whatever it is he's smelling, eating, doing etc.), kennel (go to his kennel), heel, here (his recall/come). There are a few other commands that he knew like 'place' and 'look sharp' but the previous owner did not reinforce these commands. Sherlock does have some resource guarding tendencies, especially inside of his crate over his food bowl. Also, according to what his previous owner witnessed with him, he does not like to be approached while he is lying down. He will growl, show teeth and or bite. We have not seen this at the farm, however farm-life and home-life are two different things, and he may resort to this behavior again once he is back in a home. Also according to his behavior with his previous owner, he could not be bathed or groomed without a muzzle. We were able to do both without a muzzle here, but again he is out of his comfort zone, and sometimes dog's do not show their 'true nature' until they are comfortable. On a positive note, Sherlock is a happy, affectionate dog. There is much more to him than some bad habits, he loves attention. Sherlock is house and crate trained, and is VERY well mannered indoors. He really is a sweet dog who could make someone a wonderful companion, if you are willing to put in a little time and effort. Who I am seeking: Sherlock must be adopted by someone who is a very experienced dog-owner. Preferably someone who has experience with the breed and with the behaviors that we are describing. He must be an only dog - other animals overwhelm him and spark some of these bad habits of his. Age: est 5 years old Please understand that these are rescued dogs, and sometimes their ages are only a guess. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture, and not to discriminate against older dogs. You never know which dog will steal your heart when you meet them!
