Rescue Me ID: 17-10-13-00465Whitney (female)
Whitney came from a hoarding case where his owner was found dead along with 13 other dogs. The shelter in NC asked for our help with 5 of the dogs. We do not have any history on Whitney. I can only relay what I know first hand. According to the vet she is around 2 years old. She was the hardest one of the 5 to win over. It is evident that she never got to go anywhere outside her home. If we had not taken her she would have died at the shelter. She was pretty reactive and scared. She was matted so bad that the hair was pulling and made sores on her skin. It took me nearly 2 weeks to get her to the point I could pick her up to get her to the groomer. Once I made that initial contact the rest is history. She loves attention from humans, and she did not even mind being groomed. I know it was the first time ever setting foot at a grooming salon for her. She is great with my various cats. She is pretty good with my other dogs to. She will go to her new home current on vaccines, deworming, flea prevention and spayed. She will be microchipped as well. She will receive a certificate of health from our vet prior to going home. The adopter will get all her health records with adoption. We require a prescreen application to adopt. You can get that on www.samskennel.com . (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-09-00099Bianca (female)
Meet Bianca... or as we affectionately call her, 'Lambie'. Bianca is a 12 year old Bichon or poodle or mix? We aren't sure, but she doesn't shed! Despite probably not having had the greatest life, she's such a gentle, sweet and affectionate girl. Our best guess is that Bianca led a life where she was repeatedly bred, probably in an unscrupulous pet store/puppy mill situation. She was rescued by Gray Face Acres from a Baltimore shelter. She was in pretty rough shape, matted fur, fleas, poor nutrition status and anemia. Despite all of this, she has been a sweet and trusting dog from the start. Bianca has been in a foster home since the end of August. She's doing great, her fur is coming in soft and full and her nutrition status and weight are back to normal. She has a very hearty appetite and she loves to curl up on the couch or bed and snooze. She gets along great with the 2 dogs she lives with, and also got along well with all of the dogs at Gray Face Acres. She has not been tested with cats or children. Bianca is a pretty healthy and still spritely 12 year old dog. She does have some itching/allergy issues that we haven't quite figured out yet. While we are working on it, it is under control with some prescription medicine from the vet. She needs daily eye ointment in her left eye because it doesn't produce enough tears on it's own. (Keratitis is the medical term for this). Bianca still needs to be spayed and have a dental. We wanted to get her to a stronger state of health before surgery, but she's now ready. Bianca will make a terrific pet - Preferably in a home with another canine companion and a small fenced yard. She is okay on a short leash walk, but seems to prefer just going out in the yard to potty and sometimes wandering around the property a bit. Do you think you have the perfect home and heart for this sweet girl? Please fill out an application at www.grayfaceacres.org if you are interested in adopting Bianca. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-06-00433Pepper (male)
Pepper Breed: Miniature Poodle Sex: Male Age: 16 weeks Weight: 10 lbs Vaccinations: Current Microchipped: Yes Pepper is a lively little man who is looking for a home with a family who will take him to training classes so he will know how to be a member of the family. He gets along with kids, cats, dogs, and probably everything and everyone he meets. He is not neutered because of his age. He will be neutered before adoption. If we find the best fit for him, they can 'foster to adopt'. His first mom was an elderly lady who 'bought' him from a breeder and just couldn't keep up with him which is why he is just learning some manners. If you are that active family who will devote time to him and add him to the family, please contact Esther or Dallas at 757-583-8777 or e-mail email@example.com. (Less)
