Rescue Me ID: 14-07-30-00598Murphy (male)

Poodle    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only.  Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Murphy, this miniature poodle, wants a home where someone can be home with him most of the time and with someone who enjoys taking him on a daily walk. He's a sweet happy little guy but his 'boys' have moved out of the home and none of them have a place to take him. We simply do not have the time for the attention he needs and thrives on. Murphy uses a doggie door for potty times (ours is a single level home). He loves to go on walks with a gentle leader and on car rides. He'll sit/lay near you or on your lap where ever you are and just wants to be near his people. He likes to play and be chased when he has a toy. He is a barker and ... (Read More)also a nervous little guy especially with sounds he doesn't know and when someone knocks at the door or rings the bell. He is microchipped. When we rescued him from the shelter as an adult dog, he was not neutered and the vet thought he had probably been a stud dog. He has never liked be groomed but does well with the bathing part. He loves sleeping on your bed and stretches his little neck out for scratches under his chin; he also likes to be carried like a lamb. He can be stubborn when he wants something he shouldn't have (like a bone or something he thinks is a treasure) and if he doesn't drop it when you tell him to 'drop he' he will snap but he has never bitten or hurt anyone. He does best if distracted with a little treat if you are trying to get something he shouldn't have. Because of his occasional snaps, he would do best in a home without children (though he did fine with his boys...they just knew his limits and personality). He lived with a very confident large cat and would do ok with same if introduced slowly. If the cat is skittish or runs though it would not be a good fit. He also loved our female sheltie until she passed away at 18 years. Medical Issues: he had seizures in the animal shelter when we adopted him and then two or three in the first year we had him but NONE for the last 6 years. I think he was just so nervous being in the shelter that he wasn't eating and perhaps had a low blood sugar. If you can give him a fenced yard with a doggie door and plenty of human company and love he can be yours. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-25-00383Jimmy (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jimmy never dreamed of having a loving home. Living on the streets of Bogota, Colombia, Jimmy had a rough life. You could never tell from his personality, because he is a happy go lucky kind of guy, very friendly and trusting. Fortunately, his fate changed and he will be arriving in Seattle on Aug 9 to look for a family that gives him all the love he deserves. His name is Jimmy after James, the Colombian soccer player. So if you are a soccer fan, this guy is for you! Jimmy is a mixture of many different breeds. He has poodleish hair on the top of his head and short legs. He's about 2 years old and weighs about 17 lbs. He's great with ... (Read More)kids and other dogs. AND he's house trained! He has never had an accident and he patiently waits to go outside. I don't think he's ever had a home though as he's desperate for attention. For the first week he always wanted to be pet, but now that he knows he will get all the love and attention he needs, he is much more confident. If you would like to meet him, please contact pacosrescue@yahoo.com or Ana Maria at: 614-282-1913 to request an application. His adoption fee is $400 which covers his neutering, vaccinations and transport to the US. (Less)

Still have the Standard Poodles. I was overwhelmed with the response. I purchased a large crate and I've left them in the crate together for 2 hours. Standard Poodles. Coco (9) has separation anxiety and was helped when I acquired Jolie (4) one year ago. Both have anxiety issues and I would like them to go together. Jolie is an Alpha female and is becoming more aggressive with other dogs. They need a Cesar Millan. They are extremely loving but cannot be left alone. It has become physically impossible for me to keep my dear Poodles and I want them to find just the right person who is willing to work with them and give them the life ... (Read More)they deserve. They need grooming every 4-6 weeks and they don't eat cheap food. They cost a lot to maintain but hey they're Poodles. I am willing to deliver these darlings to Oregon or So. California. (Less)
