Rescue Me ID: 14-08-12-00667JoJo (male)

Poodle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

JoJo was rescued from a horrible high kill shelter in Southern California. He came to foster in pretty rough shape. Thought he had a skin issue but it turns out he had been on his own for a while since his fur was full of weeds and the fur was so matted that the groomer had to shave all his fur off. That is when we discovered that he was actually a schnauzer mix! He is a very handsome fellow and a true 'gentle' man. He literally loves everyone. Adults and children. He really likes cats and other dogs. Loves tummy rubs once he trusts you and loves to cuddle and thinks he is a lap dog, He is not a barker. He is housebroken. Does not dart at ... (Read More)first opportunity. He doesn't inhale his food - he likes to graze and again JoJo is a true gentleman! JoJo has some Poodle in him - he has the curly Poodle hair on his legs or maybe he has some Airedale in him with those long legs & his stance. He does not shed. His is approximately 15 lbs. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-12-00335Mojo (male)

Poodle    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

Mojo is our gorgeous extra large 11 year old black male standard poodle. He has been with us since puppyhood and has been a loyal family member, but mostly to me (his mama). He has always been a touch unpredictable around children he doesn't know, and we have accommodated that. Mojo tolerates our two children, but he is not attached to either. Over time he has become increasingly unpredictable to safely keep as as our family pet. He snaps at and has bitten both of our kids in an effort to direct them away from him, but he does not intentionally go after them. With adults he is sweet, calm, loves to hang around and is very mellow in the ... (Read More)house. He requires minimal exercise due to his age, and is very healthy for an 11 year old. Ideally he will go to a home with one or two adults who have experience with very smart dog breeds and who will give the undivided attention he needs. We love Mojo and want him to spend his remaining healthy years with a person or couple who really want a large poodle to spoil, but do not want the hassle of a pup to train. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-30-00598Murphy (male)

Poodle    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Murphy, this miniature poodle, wants a home where someone can be home with him most of the time and with someone who enjoys taking him on a daily walk. He's a sweet happy little guy but his 'boys' have moved out of the home and none of them have a place to take him. We simply do not have the time for the attention he needs and thrives on. Murphy uses a doggie door for potty times (ours is a single level home). He loves to go on walks with a gentle leader and on car rides. He'll sit/lay near you or on your lap where ever you are and just wants to be near his people. He likes to play and be chased when he has a toy. He is a barker and ... (Read More)also a nervous little guy especially with sounds he doesn't know and when someone knocks at the door or rings the bell. He is microchipped. When we rescued him from the shelter as an adult dog, he was not neutered and the vet thought he had probably been a stud dog. He has never liked be groomed but does well with the bathing part. He loves sleeping on your bed and stretches his little neck out for scratches under his chin; he also likes to be carried like a lamb. He can be stubborn when he wants something he shouldn't have (like a bone or something he thinks is a treasure) and if he doesn't drop it when you tell him to 'drop he' he will snap but he has never bitten or hurt anyone. He does best if distracted with a little treat if you are trying to get something he shouldn't have. Because of his occasional snaps, he would do best in a home without children (though he did fine with his boys...they just knew his limits and personality). He lived with a very confident large cat and would do ok with same if introduced slowly. If the cat is skittish or runs though it would not be a good fit. He also loved our female sheltie until she passed away at 18 years. Medical Issues: he had seizures in the animal shelter when we adopted him and then two or three in the first year we had him but NONE for the last 6 years. I think he was just so nervous being in the shelter that he wasn't eating and perhaps had a low blood sugar. If you can give him a fenced yard with a doggie door and plenty of human company and love he can be yours. (Less)

Poodle    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Still have the Standard Poodles. I was overwhelmed with the response. I purchased a large crate and I've left them in the crate together for 2 hours in the daytime and they sleep in the crate at night. Standard Poodles. Coco (9) has separation anxiety and was helped when I acquired Jolie (4) one year ago. Both have anxiety issues and I would like them to go together. Jolie is an Alpha female and is becoming more aggressive with other dogs. They need a Cesar Millan. They are extremely loving but cannot be left alone. It has become physically impossible for me to keep my dear Poodles and I want them to find just the right person who ... (Read More)is willing to work with them and give them the life they deserve. They need grooming every 4-6 weeks and they don't eat cheap food. They cost a lot to maintain but hey they're Poodles. I am willing to deliver these darlings to Oregon or So. California. (Less)
