Rescue Me ID: 16-12-03-00305Otis (male)

Poodle    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This is 10-year-old male poodle, 11 pounds in size, up-to-date on vet visits and grooming, no ongoing health problems, super healthy in fact, not overweight, super friendly and cuddly and playful, great in the yard (always on a lead, of course) and also great on walks on a leash, good in the car. Good with children. He's been in our home with our two dogs since his parents (my inlaws) passed and so he does get along with other dogs, as well as the fact that he's exposed to other dogs at the groomer's in the play area, in public when out on walks etc. Our main concern with this cuddly dog right now is that he remains the third wheel in our ... (Read More)home with already two dogs. Our original two dogs 'grew up' together and so are very cuddly and playful with each other, rolling around on the floor and then napping sidebyside. That leaves this cute little poodle on the sidelines, and I often feel that he misses the days when he was the sole dog in a house with his original owners (my inlaws). While I give Otis as much love as humanly possibly, I'm spreading that love and attention across three dogs now and often feel that I'm not giving him enough of what he needs. My husband travels a great deal for work, and many, many times it's just me with one lap and the three dogs. Please get in touch with me if you are looking for a small, well-established and trained dog (leash, crate and otherwise) to add to your home, someone to be your little buddy, walk with, silly doggie chit-chat with and love and adore. He has a great little personality and will easily be a bright spot in your lives. No rehoming fee, just the reassurance, and references (groomer and vet if you have them, personal references) that you will continue his yearly vet visits (of which he has just completed his current yearly visit) and his grooming schedule which is about every six to eight weeks (depending on the season and his hair growth), giving him love and care in your home, making him a part of your family for which he will be surely tail-wagging happy, grateful and loving in return. He will of course be accompanied by his favorite toys, his crate, his bedding, favorite treats, etc., to make for as smooth a transition as possible for our friendly little guy. (Less)
